C.J Watson

I'm so conflicted. I admit I am a bandwagon Bulls fan because of Rose, Noah, and Watson, but when I watch these games, I can't help but cheer for Miami. I really like LeBron, and I tend to sway from popular opinion, so I've been pulling for him all season. I really want him to win the Finals so all those Cleveland fans can yell and cry some more. GetTFOverIt, Cleveland.

Watson is making me proud. I hope he continues to improve and earn a starting spot somewhere (PLEASE not Boston, Dallas, or San Antonio!).

The only reason I'm rooting for Chicago in the East finals is CJ. Can't stand Noah, though. But I'd like to see Dallas win it all. Dirk's paid his dues and deserves a title.

This isn't conflicting?

Because he's given into being a punk and wanting to "form" a winning team thru loopholes in the NBA trade and free-agency policies, versus constructing one to solidify his greatness like MJ did. I'm over LeBron. Miami is nothing more than the Eastern Division version of the Lakers, which is the NBA incarnation of the NY Yankees.

Exactly what loopholes did LeBron exploit that are not available to every single player in the Association?

versus constructing one to solidify his greatness like MJ did.

Michael Jordan constructed his own team? Jerry Krause had nothing to do with it?

I am sure that bringing Steve Kerr, Dennis Rodman, Ron Harper, and Luc Longley never helped those Bulls teams dominate.

Even MJ couldn't do it alone. Luckily, he played for an organization that was committed to winning and brought in some help for him.

Do you think MJ would have stayed with the Bulls if they hadn't brought in Pippen and all those great role players? I don't. I really can't even remember the last time a team won the championship without having more than one legitimate star. Pistons would be the closest to that but they had a starting 5 that were fringe all-stars and were great defensively.

Lebron gave Cleveland more than enough time but he finally realized that they would never be able to build a winner around him that could compete with what the rest of the East put together. He wouldn't have gotten out of the first round against if he stayed in Cleveland.

Dirk is playing better ball than anyone left right now. He is on fire.

I agree with general argument of your post; however, I disagree with the specifics regarding Pippen. I do not think that a draft-day trade really counts as "bringing a guy in" as much as trading for or enticing a proven veteran to come play for your organization (ala, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen going to the Celts).

That said, Jordan did play with Pippen (HoF) and Rodman, as well he as Grant, Kerr, Harper, Longley, Kukoc, etc.

The Lakers haven't stacked a team nearly the way Miami has.

What? Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Artest, and Odom isn't stacked? If those guys weren't spoiled brats and got along then nobody in the NBA could beat them.

Agreed that a draft-day trade is much different than bringing in a perennial all-star but the NBA landscape was different back then. Lebron kept Cleveland good enough to keep them from having a high draft pick, they had no pieces to trade to get a high draft pick and they couldn't entice free agents to come play with Lebron.

I just can't fault a guy for wanting to win and seeing the writing on the wall in his present situation. Also, there is a lot more interaction among players today so it shouldn't surprise people that these great players want to team up with other great players they are friends with.

I taught C.J. everything he knows basketball-wise when he was in my Child Psychology class in '04.

...and when I say I taught him everything he knows I mean he sat a few rows in front of me and I was like "Hey, theres C.J. Watson".

oh yeah and Pippen was just straight up awesome from day one!! <--- SARCASTIC!!!

MJ and the bulls BUILT a championship team.... TWICE!!! They developed young, drafted players and made solid moves to acquire veterans when needed. MJ deserves lots of credit for being patient with Pippen until his game developed.

There was no secret love promise made late at night to all get on the same team.
