Kinda contradicting...I guess they think other schools will want in.

i think the reports must mean 18-24 members overall (but not full-time)

like boise st was still going to be doing basketball and everything else not-football with the WAC

and the big east really has a membership somewhere in the...i think it's 17-20 member universities, but only 12 play football, only 15-16-17 play basketball in the conference, etc

What a great marriage! They are registered at the Dollar Tree if anyone wants to give them a gift!

RIP Mountain West. We had a great run.

It was over when Utah left, IMO it was a slow death since they left. The MWC hasn't been the same since the realignment took over and ripped us to shreds. I assume the Mtn network will disolve as well. The Mtn. had some good things going for it. I am not going to crap on it. They showed just about every game of every sport in our conference. You don't get that in many conferences, and we'll see if we have that kind of access in the new conference.

Hopefully we get to keep a conference network and it will be better run. I suspect it will since there will be more programming of games on it. For example, it will show football all day on a saturday. East coast members will be on in the mornings for us, and so forth. It would be stupid for the new conference to not have a conference network, but I do agree on having NBC Sports and or ESPN hold our primary games.

We nearly took the BCS down. We were one group fighting the system and proving it could be doen. Oh What could have been... It's crazy to think that if Texas had gone along with the PAC-16 idea, none of this would have happened.

i though espn was saying the recent moves only leave them at about 13 or 14 as far as football goes?

The new league currently has 15 all sports members, and Hawaii will be the 16th in football only. I'm guessing they'll go after Temple, since the owls are currently split between conferences.

Ok, that's still less than that 18-24 school number that articles were throwing out. Where was that coming from?

I think they may try to gut the WAC some more. Maybe grab Utah St or San Jose St. A team like MTSU might also be a possibility. One way or the other, this behemoth of a conference is likely to grow.
