They were, seemed to be a distant second, but they were definitely the runner up. USC was always the hometown school for him, but apparently hiring Kingsbury was what put them over the top. He announced his commitment at the Army All-American Game, and then enrolled at USC, but I'm not clear on whether he actually signed a letter of intent at USC since he publicly committed after the early signing period. Is it the letter of intent or the enrolling in classes that implicates the one year sit out penalty?
