Your bylaw 1) never states it is for an initial award and 2) is for students having not received aid and been in school for 1 academic year (2 semesters). This is the new definition of a walk-on not counting as an IC, no longer 2 years, and is already covered under 15.5.6.3.5.

If you could get ICs from the previous year back, 1) you'd see that badly abused, except that 2) it still doesn't get around signees limits anyway.

Interpret the NCAA Bylaws however you'd like. You might be right (though you aren't right about the one year requirement) and I might be wrong. But the two early enrollees didn't sign NLIs. Maybe they'll have to pay their own way for the Spring-1 term to establish walkon status first. Or, maybe you're right that it can't be done at all for those two. Bama doesn't publicize details on such matters, so I'm forced to try to connect the dots on what they're doing. All of that said, I really don't care to debate with you about it any further.

They didn’t sign a full class in ‘87. Been saving a spot for the last 3 decades for an occasion just like this. It’s bylaw 18.657.3.45 sec 2 of the alternate rules of recruiting.

Dont take a project that might not ever contribute when there are a ton of 2020 in state prospects and recruiting could blow up if we show progress. We have a easier schedule next hear and the team should be better.
