"The institution may immediately (beginning with the fall term) award the financial aid to a student-athlete who has been a member of the team for at least one academic year and has not previously received athletically related financial aid. A student-athlete who has not been a member of the team for at least one academic year may not receive the financial aid during the fall term, but may receive it in a following term (e.g., spring semester, winter quarter)."Your bylaw 1) never states it is for an initial award and 2) is for students having not received aid and been in school for 1 academic year (2 semesters). This is the new definition of a walk-on not counting as an IC, no longer 2 years, and is already covered under 15.5.6.3.5.
If you could get ICs from the previous year back, 1) you'd see that badly abused, except that 2) it still doesn't get around signees limits anyway.
Kids aren’t trying to decide who they’re gonna root for, they’re trying to choose which program gives them the best opportunity to succeed in college and play in the nfl to make millions. That’s Alabama all day every day and twice on Sunday. I hate Bama and love Tennessee for nearly 45 years now, but that’s just the truth. I pray one day that’s no longer the case.If you’re asking me? Second one all day! Vol fan thing.
Bama coach is his closest relationship and they want him.Hey not trying to question you here as you bring solid information the majority of the time, I just want to know why you think there is 0% chance he comes here? You might have said it earlier in the thread but I don't want to read back that far.
They didn’t sign a full class in ‘87. Been saving a spot for the last 3 decades for an occasion just like this. It’s bylaw 18.657.3.45 sec 2 of the alternate rules of recruiting.Austin Price on Mid-Day 180 said he is very interested to see how Bama is going to be able to take HT, with all they already have signed and committed.
Right, I get it but Bama doesn't have that issue. They manipulate what they want. 2020 class is pretty rich. Hope we can pull some extras next year. Of course this will drive the negas out when the recruiting class isn't what they wanted. We have room because we'll make room... but we have more position needs and guys we want than spots.
Dont take a project that might not ever contribute when there are a ton of 2020 in state prospects and recruiting could blow up if we show progress. We have a easier schedule next hear and the team should be better.Right, I get it but Bama doesn't have that issue. They manipulate what they want. 2020 class is pretty rich. Hope we can pull some extras next year. Of course this will drive the negas out when the recruiting class isn't what they wanted.
You misspelled “I was wrong...**** me!”Interpret the NCAA Bylaws however you'd like. You might be right and I might be wrong. But the two early enrollees didn't sign an NLI. And maybe they'll have to pay their own way for the Spring 1 term to establish walkon status first. Maybe you're right that it can't be done. Bama doesn't publicize details on such matters, so I'm forced to try to connect the dots on what they're doing. All of that said, I really don't care to debate with you about it any further.
