-247“Tennessee just got involved earlier this week,” Lefotu said. “I spoke with Aaron Amaama (recruiting assistant) and he was asking questions about my recruitment, like if I was still open.
“He said they had watched my film and would be staying in touch and then he called again this morning. We talked for a bit and then then I talked with Coach G (Rodney Garner) and he offered me a scholarship. I’m definitely exited about this one.”
Lefotu wasted no time setting up an official visit.
“I’m going out there January 19th,” Lefotu said. “I’m still learning about Tennessee but I know enough about them to know they’re a great school with an amazing football program.
“I can’t wait to get to know more about them and meet the staff and that’s what the official visit will be all about.”
-VQTennessee will host high school prospect Sue Lufotu the 19-21st weekend. Ekeler will be going out to see him Monday.
Rodney Garner would have been on that trip but that isn’t happening because Michigan transfer Taylor Upshaw will be coming in on Sunday. He will be in Colorado before the Tennessee trip so it’s always possible things go south before he gets here because the Buffs could close it out before then but he is someone Tennessee has interest in.
People will look at his highlights and not be impressed, because they're not "flashy". This kid is well coached and does what he's asked to do in that defense. He shows great pop on initial contact and gets extension from the blocker. Then he controls his man and maintains gap responsibility. Then he's able to shed his guy and make a play. His highlights show this repeatedly. It's difficult to get college guys to maintain that discipline consistently. If G decides to take him I'm all in. We'll lose a decent amount on the DL after next year so always good to keep the high school prospect pipeline full and then add on from the portal as necessary.

-VQSua Lufotu is no longer visiting this weekend. Tennessee is choosing to not bring him in and decided to not go see him this week.
