ALPHA DOG
Mikey Matthews, WR, Mission Viejo (Calif.) - Matthews was playing on his home field and had a great workout. We’ve always liked Matthews but questioned his overall burst and top end speed. He answered a lot of those questions and has made a noticeable jump in his short area quickness and explosiveness. He had no issues getting open and is one of the best route runners in the region and has great hands as well. He has a strong body and is tough to re-direct because of his strength and he always competes at a high level. He should see his recruitment pick up over the spring but has upcoming visits planned with Boise State, Texas and Michigan State

Matt said this kid was a freak at 7v7 today. Won’t be a 3 star long
This kid would be a take almost any other year, but we're at or near the top for so much WR talent it's crazy. He might still be a take for us, but we'd have to miss on multiple guys in my opinion. He's going to be a good one for somebody.

Bass, heard anything about the turnout there today, last night at ice cream; heard anything about everyone going to baseball game tonight...what was/is the atmosphere? I know the weather hasn't cooperated...

I haven’t. I do think the weather hurt that, but there was a lot of folks at 7v7 getting autographs and stuff. Don’t know about the ice cream

That photographer was on point there, kudos
This was my immediate thought, as well, but much like the performance-enhancement qualities of the sticky gloves, today's cameras have really cheapened the abilities of many skilled photographers. The ability of digital cameras to record video in 4k quality, then splice out individual frames for still pictures, or take a dozen or more burst shots with a seconds time, it removes a lot of the skill. Having the camera pointed at the right spot at the right time is the most important skill remaining, but capturing the exact moment is no longer much of a challenge.
