Cabin camping advice

Looking at some options for a family trip. Anyone have experience at Big South Fork, Wilderness Resort? Or, something else within an easy drive. Would like to take the dogs, hike or bike, fish, campfire, etc.

I haven't been, but it looks like a nice area kd. There seems to be plenty of private space to enjoy some quiet family time. The Howard Baker looked especially nice.

I've not heard a bad thing from people who actually went to Wilderness at the Smokies, they've all liked it.

There are all kinds of cabin rentals in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and quite a few are pet friendly as well.

Wrong Wilderness. We've been to the water park, actually had a pretty good time there (against my expectations). Wilderness Resort is in Big South Fork:

Hi Doc. I've been to Charit Creek Lodge in Big South Fork. I presume its still operating (was run by the same people who run LeConte Lodge in the Smokies). It was a good family outing - rustic but clean. About a 2-3 easy hike in. Your family might be bored with more than a night there however. Lots of other hiking trails in BSF and Pickett State Park.

if there is in door plumbing,you aren't camping and the only heat should be a camp fire you should have to at least go 300 feet to get to the showers and toilets lol

I like Fall Creek Falls better. Big South Fork is nice but very little to do there. We have camped there in our camper and enjoyed it but we went during the storytelling festival or it would have been a boring trip.

isn't that tallest water fall east of the Mississippi ? I camped out there years ago,you had to watch out for the skunks and coons roaming around at night

Both of mine have been sprayed in the past year and a half. Not fun.
