No interim title now.... Didn't even make him "try out" guess we shouldn't be with Vandy but anyone suprised they didn't wait to see how he does first????

I'm not really surprised.
It's not like they have coaches breaking down their door to coach for them. Why not keep the one they have.

ugh do we have to go into that rumor again?

That was all the equivalent of Spurrier or Bowden's name thrown into a coaching search just because the college is in the state of Florida

well good for him....i liked him and thought he was a great guy...i just dont wish him TOO much luck..

Make sure you read between the lines. The interim was removed, but it was also stated that David Williams will evaluate Caldwell and the position at the end of the season. This basically means he's an interim coach who has 1 season to earn a "full" time position. The word interim may have been removed, but the situation is still NOT considered a long term guarantee.

I assume you're talking about Fulmer. If so, then no sir. I'm not going down that road at all. lol

I just think they removed the term interim because Bobby Johnson made a statement on Nashville radio that pushed them into a corner.

I honestly didn't see any reports at all that he went to them.

Closest I ever found was a petition by some Vandy fan to bring him there and several writeups saying "People are putting his name in the discussion but I dont think he'd end up as the best fit for this job"

I think it's just a PR move...he's still the interium coach, just not being called that.

The "interim" tag hurts recruiting. Williams thinks removing the tag and making him a HC for one year will make a difference.
