Anybody heard anything about this?

I read it on SECSportsnation:

"Anyone heard any more news about this? Matt Jones from KSR claims that there is a story about to break that could be devastating to our program."

Something about a guy that came from Memphis to UK named Bilal Batley that had to suddenly quit for personal reasons.

The story isn't supposed to be released for a couple of weeks.

im already so sick of uk fans defending calipari like he is a saint just becuase he is their coach now....if he were still at memphis, they would hate him just as much as everyone else....but then again this is coming from the most delusional fans in the sports universe

If this is true, it is going to be interesting how the NCAA pursues this case! How can the NCAA judicial board punish Kentucky's program because of what their new head coach did at his former school? They may just suspend/fine Calipari and let Kentucky off the hook?! This is similar to the Bryce Brown situation with UT... UT was not at fault once so ever so they dropped the whole thing...

This would make my day if its true. Being up here with all these morons, I know all about how they are. They've already engraved their name on the championship trophy. Give it time, somethings going to happen whether its this or something else.

Here is the link to the latest update from KSR.

The strongest rumor running is that its something that will be released concerning Calipari while at Memphis. (From a former staff member, who just might be Batley) Some think it might be the smoking gun that ties him to the Derrick Rose situation.

Others say its nothing earth shattering. We will find out soon enough I guess.

Hat, been able to drum up any info on this yet? I'd be shocked if anything too damaging got directly tied to Calipari -- not that it would matter. He's kind of like Bill Clinton in that respect. Teflon John.

Rumors are running rampant around Kentucky for sure - some believeable, some absurd. One rumor making the rounds is that UK will "self-report" 2 minor recruiting violations involving improper contact with 2010 recruits by Batley. If true, this would immediately disqualify/terminate our further recruitment of these prospects. AGAIN - this is just rumor.

Not necessarily. Teams sign prospects they committed minor violations in the recruitment of all the time.

You are absolutely correct - However; I'm fairly certain the University of Kentucky adopted a more stringent internal policy on this matter that dates back to the Hal Mumme debacle of years past. Obviously my info could be inaccurate.

The obvious and nearly complete absence of a prominent poster who is a fan of his dearly beloved Cal in this thread is intriguing. :)

Here's to hoping Cal gets hammered. Nothing would please me more. There would be a lot of Humble Pie served on these boards as well.

I doubt this is the "story" in question, but this came out today concerning Batley.

Mike DeCourcy of The Sporting News says UK self-reported a minor infraction by former staff member Bilal Batley. Apparently, in early June, Batley spoke to a player at the Craft Center about an academic matter and grabbed a few rebounds, which the school later reported as a violation. Batley, who in addition to being on Cal’s staff at Memphis also worked at Indiana and Oklahoma, as well as John Lucas’ After Care Program, left the staff recently due to a family illness.

I think it's probably going to be much ado about nothing.

It seems like there is a witch hunt going on for Calipari.
