No one else picking the Jets  I'd love to see my Titans win it but realistically, the Jets are gonna be nasty next year.
The Jets are seriously overrated by people. They go out and get a few high profile, aging veterans (LT, Jason Taylor) and trade for two troubled players (Santonio Holmes, Antonio Cromartie) and people expect them to light the world on fire.
Personally I'm not entirely sold on Mark Sanchez, plus they are looking at starting a rookie offensive lineman at Alan Faneca's slot too. I see them regressing this year.
The winners of the off season on paper usually don't wind up winning in the regular season....
But its too early for me to make my pick.
Defense. They're still going to be #1 in the league in Defense.
Yeah they have a great defense I'll give them that, but they still need a better pass rush. If they think Jason Taylor can provide that then they are in trouble. The opposite corner slot opposite of Revis is likely going to be Cromartie but he can't tackle and gets burned pretty badly at times. The key to the Jets winning is playing smash mouth defense and running the ball.
I really think that letting Thomas Jones leave via free agency was a big big mistake. They'll resort to using Shonn Greene and an very aged LT. I actually like Greene but until he proves he can carry the load at RB I remain skeptical. I really think a lot of Jet fans will be disappointed.
course, cromartie seems to get a fair amount of picks and when he does, his speed most times lets him net a very good return (since when though does he get burned alot?). I dont really think he's too bad a corner with revis on the other side especially, but youre making it sound like cromartie is a downgrade from whoever was there last year
you also forgot about Leon Washington in their RB - who they'll switch off but use in a chris johnson like sense - but he was one of the reasons why they went ahead and let thomas jones go
Cromartie is decent corner yes, but he isn't a sure tackler in the run game and tends to make a big play all the time and gets burned. They traded Leon Washington to the Seahawks on draft day. Not sure who their 3rd back is but I do know the #1 and #2 backs are Shonn Greene and LT.
Also I know and have talked to some Jet fans that tend to think Kyle Wilson will unseat Cromartie as a starting CB at some point this season, rather that is true or not remains to be seen.
