If CDD wants to recruit within 4 hours of Knoxville, how many 4 and 5 star recruits does that give us to choose from? We may need to map this out to see which ones staff is going after hard....

Didn't you hear? Dooley is only going to go after 2 and 3* recruits. There are a lot of those within four hours.

Seriously, couldn't he mean 4 hours travel, regardless of mode? A plane from Knoxville can reach the entire United States except for the West Coast.

He probably really wants to lock down the southern states (Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, the Carolinas) and try to reach out to a couple players nationally.

I hope this coaching staff will be able to recruit some studs though. I want (as everyone does) to see some great DT's and LB's to come in this next class.

Alabama/Georgia,Carolinas,Virginia now we got ties in Texas and Louisiania , think we can find some in Texas,

Success = own TN from Metro Nashville east, get a foot in the door in west TN, but most importantly load up on players from GA/VA/SC.

It would also be wise to develop some relationships in NC. The quality of HS FB is steadily improving. The state has almost 50% more people than TN with roughly twice as many black people. The population concentrations are closer to K'ville than Memphis is.

Hey mo. There is nothing racist about recognition of a "benign" characteristic as Colin Powell put it. You can close your eyes all you want but black kids make up a very dispropotionate percentage of BCS and in particular SEC rosters. I could care less. I'm just as happy for them as I would be a kid from any other race. I do NOT resent the success of other people who play by the rules and especially not based on something as superficial as skin color.

I treat people and accept people as individuals only. Individuals have strengths and abilities that are unique to them. However some characteristic strengths and weaknesses happen to largely coincide with benign characteristics of race.

I do not have racist feelings or impulses... which is one of the reasons I can say someone is "black" and recognize a high level of accomplishment amongst "black" people in a particular sphere of endeavor... ie, college football... without demeaning or intending to demean anyone.

The sooner we don't have people who react like you... the sooner we'll have real peace between races in America.
