I was JUST about to post this.

Good Job Sickem!

Hate to hear about injures like this, but I can't help but feel a little better about September 2nd.

Pretty big loss for Cal. I'll echo OS's sentiment about hating to hear of kids getting hurt. Certainly proves the point about the riskiness of having one of your studs on the return team.

I hate that the kid is hurt. I wish him only the best. Good luck Mixon. Hopefully the NCAA will not be stupid and let the kid have a med redshirt.

I'm not sure if he was there best. He was All Pac 10, but they had another that I'm pretty sure was All American.

Sorry to hear about his injury but I want him and all of Cal's top players at 100% when we beat them.

This is definitely unfortunate. I always hate to hear about season ending injuries.

Because I'm a nit, I have to point out that Mixon isn't their best DB. He's damn good though.

This will go to how deep their bench is. In the third and fourth quarther when the teams are tired and heat is getting to CAL this will be factor. Hate it for the kid.

They have 15 DBs on roster, 14 not counting Mixon. Of these 14, 10 are freshmen, 2 are seniors(Hughes and Bundy), 1 is a junior, and 1 is a sophomore.

Wow, this changes the complexion of the defensive backfield quite a bit. Some have argued contrary, but to me had it appeared the d-backfield was somewhat of a strength for Cal - now I would say its a little shakey, or at a minimum a bit more of an unknown.

Tough loss for Cal. Tim Mixon one of the leading punt returners in the nation tore an ACL. Mixon was also starting senior CB.
