Anyone else watching tonight? I'm figuring Calzaghe should put on a clinic, as Jones legs and hands are mere shadows of his younger days.

Calzaghe thouroughly outboxed and occasionally outpowered Mikkel Kessler, who, in my opinion, could have dealt with a prime Roy Jones without much incident.

That, and the 'Pride of Wales' is coming off a pretty thorough beating of Bernard Hopkins, another man who would own Roy Jones. A Calzaghe win sets up another one with Hopkins, as Pavlik wasn't up to the task.

Is this the best fight Joe could have picked, for the sake of boxing? No, not at all, but, he needs a good payday, as he is getting ready to retire, if you believe the whispers. There is talk of him trying to get to 50 wins, but i figure he only has 2 left after this one, a rematch with Hopkins in the UK, and one mega fight that will depend on the state of the game at the time.

Watched the fight. Jones was out classed by a better fighter. Wish Calzaghe would cut out the showboating. He could have put Jones on the ground but decided to showboat to much. I expected more power by Calzaghe tonight but clearly, Calzaghe was the winner.

Roy Jones needs to give Hopkins one last crack at him so Hopkins can officially send Jones to the old folks home...

A prime Jones before he moved up to heavyweight and back down would have beat Joe no problem.

Roy Jones never had great KO power. Calzaghe isnt exactly real YOUNG either. Calzaghe was the better fighter period. I am not sure that would change if the fight was 3-4 years ago.

I agree, Calzaghe would have schooled him at that point too. Outside of the heavyweight division with Lewis and Bruno, British fighters were not able to get great paydays or stature from the mid/late 90's until Hatton made Kostya Tszyu quit on the stool, where they became hotter in the US and therefore came here to fight.

Alot of HBO/SHOBOX Americans fail to realize that there has been equal, in most cases better, boxing going on overseas.

The prime Roy Jones with trophy scalps such as David Telesco, Derrick Harmon, and Julio Cesar Gonzalez? Outside of a win against Hopkins before he was Bernard Hopkins, and beating James Toney after toney had ate himself out of being a 168lb fighter, Jones has never beaten ANYONE of note, in the grand picture.

At 35 years old, Calzaghe wore down Mikkel Kessler, a younger, stronger fighter, and one who would surely have KO'd Jones.
