Would you go after Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert with the #8 pick? .... or maybe Julio Jones to line up across Kenny Britt and draft Andy Dalton in the 2nd round?

Jones and it's not debatable.

Newton will not be an NFL qb or major contributor anywhere, Gabbert is promising but not top ten pick good. Jones is ready to kill it as soon as he's healthy.

Defense, Defense, Defense.

Take the best linemen or line backer on the board, I'd heavily consider one of the top two CBs too if they are still there.

Defense, Defense, Defense.

If they don't go QB, they need to go defense. They have about 4-5 more positional needs on that side of the ball.

And also coming off a year where they were 26th overall in defense, 29th against the pass, and 20th against the run

The first pick NEEDS to be on the defensive side of the ball. Why the hell do people think we need a WR? We have our guy there and our defense has been terrible...

Exactly, the offense for the most part is fine. We got a good offensive line, great running back, good young receivers. All we need is a quarterback, I'm hoping the CBA get's done quickly so we can sign a veteran stopgap.

Our defense was terrible, it remains to be seen if it was just lack of talent or lack of coaching ability from Cecil.

the only problem is ... that if Kenny Britt gets hurt, it pretty much shuts down the receiving threat. Your not going to get a great or even a good QB here unless you have good receivers on the field.

You should share your knowledge with the experts. Almost all of them seem to believe Newton and Gabbert will be gone before the Titans are up to bat.
I'd bet anything that they'll be picking #1 overall next year anyway. Just suck it up for a year, and you'll get Andrew Luck.

I do think we'll be picking within the top ten again next year but we won't be in the running for the #1 pick.

Why trade back up? If we, for whatever reason, drafted Julio I'd take Ponder or Dalton in the second round.

Julio Jones. With the 2nd round pick, take Marvin Austin or Stephen Paea. Acquire a QB via trade/free agency or have Collins start for one more year, willing he can withstand a full season.

However, if Von Miller is available at 8 (which is highly doubtful) I will be ecstatic.

What happens if Andre Johnson gets hurt? What about Larry Fitzgerald or Steve Smith or Calvin Johnson? Clearly all of their teams need to ignore their terrible defenses and take a receiver in the first round just in case someone gets hurt.

Look at the Panthers fan talking trash...

Define "anything." I have a feeling you'd actually be willing to bet little to nothing at all.

Titans should take Locker so the Colts won't need to worry about them as long as Peyton is there.
