Is the NCAA even looking into it? I have heard nothing on it except for bama fans complaining. Does anyone know why the NCAA cracks down on tennessee but not Auburn? I just want an update on the cam newton situation thanks

Any time it gets brought up, the canned response is "the investigation is ongoing." Take that however you want.

From the looks of it, the NCAA is trying to keep their reputation in tact ( what they have left anyways). Its to early to take away a NC. Wait for about 5-10 years when no one even cares anymore, then they'll take it away.

I still wonder about this too. I remember when the story first broke people were predicting the death penalty for Auburn and even the potential loss of accreditation. Now there's nothing. What gives?

Some say his skin has the texture of a dolphin's, and that wherever you are in the world, if you tune your radio to 88.4, you can actually hear his thoughts.

If they don't have to deal with it, they won't. The only reason they dealt with OSU is because of how much attention it got and how obvious it was. They made their ruling (ineligible for about 6 hours) and set a dangerous precedent, basically what they said is that parents can now shop their stud athlete around to schools for cash as long as their son "doesn't know about it". The whole thing stinks.

Cam Newton is the Casey Anothony of the 2010 college football season. Newton was clearly ineligible under the SEC rule based on his dad's admissions but Slive showed us his true character with his novel interpretation.

When the NC coach and a Heisman winner can't even get the highest honor voted on by the SEC coaches and ADs, I think that speaks how they feel about Auburn and their innocence. Last year Saban and Ingram both were voted SEC coach and SEC male athlete of the year. I don't think anyone really believes Casey Anthony nor the barn are innocent, but we just have to accept it for now.

a buddy of mine (a bammer) with a subscription to a bama pay site just told me that reliable sources on that site confirmed yesterday that awbarn was served a letter from the NCAA and that it was "bad news".

maybe notice of inquiry, maybe bs....

The NCAA will make it public by Tuesday (48 business hours). So if this is true, the barn will likely release some kind of statement by end of day Monday.

Hmmm.

If true it may open some of current and prospective prospects open to other suitors. I know everyone says this after any program gets into trouble but we did get Malik.

Im sure recruits hear rumors and if half of the rumors about the barn are true, they're screwed. maybe they will want to play for a team with a chance at a postseason.
