Cam Tatum to play in NBA Summer League

Cameron Tatum has known since Wednesday that he'll don a Memphis Grizzlies jersey in the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The former Tennessee guard had to hold his tongue until the team made the announcement.

Tatum, who tallied 1,083 over four years with the Vols, will get his first taste of NBA action on July 14 against the New York Knicks. The Grizzlies will play five games in nine days.

Tatum worked out twice for the Grizzlies, including one workout alongside Tony Wroten Jr. Memphis selected the former Washington guard with the 25th overall pick in Thursday night's draft.

"I didn't really know what to expect in the workouts," Tatum said. "(Tennessee head coach Cuonzo Martin) said to just go out there and play my type of game. I did that. I shot the ball well with a lot of confidence. When they called me back I performed well because I went back with the same attitude."

scotty hopson didnt have that choice.....the nba was locked out and their was no summer leagues last yr and even then some players like chism if my memory is correct declined a summer league appointment to begin play overseas.

Well it's a good thing then that I'm not one bit surprised we still have people who don't even have the basic reading capabilities to tell when someone is asking a serious question or talking smack about a former player.
