If he shoots at his overall average for last year during this season do we have 3 more wins at this point?

He is one test away from being gone and I fear that what we are witnessing is similar to what would happen if you heard a sober snoop try to rap...

I dont even know how to answer this. But yeah season outlook is grim. Fortunately a grim season does not mean the Cuonzo era will be grim. Plenty of time to right the ship but this season would have to have a huge makeover starting with Cam accepting responsibility as a leader.

no. actually he is averaging a half point more this year so far than all of last year. 9.3 per game as to 8.8 last year. cam's problem is he is not a vocal leader, nor a leader on the court. as a senior, he should be both. i would really like to see josh richardson start and cam come off the bench for a while and see what happens. i'm really disappointed in his play so far, as he really was a big key to where this team would be now. i also think k hall needs to come off the bench and d. miller start. what happened to not playing miller the 2nd half much against c of c ?:ermm::ermm:

Cam will not be starting very soon. It might do him some good, though it could send his fragile psyche down the drain.
I say he will be coming off the bench in the next 2 games.

Doesn't matter. Just like football....program in turmoil....new coach...new way of doing things...major rebuilding job. UT fans need to just sit back and let both Dooley and Martin(Serrano, too) turn the rosters over and get the kids that do it "their way". If they don't get it done at that point, we'll be starting over again with someone else. Look...there's simply no quick fix. Martin will find his hill isn't quite as steep as Dooley's because of the numbers, but fans can't and shouldn't expect an immediate fix/success. It's going to be a process and take time. I'm not about to judge either when they're playing with the players of former coaches. Yes Pearl had a quick turn around and it was terrific, but that's simply a unique situation. You don't see that very often. He inherited some of UT's best guards/scorers and had a smart team that was hungry. Perfect storm as the stale saying goes. This roster is Pearls for the most part and he had 'em last year. What did this bunch do under him? Nothing. They might mature and turn the corner under Martin or they might need to be recruited over. Time will tell, but like it or not, it's going to take time in all 3 mens sports. No shortcuts. UT will rebound. We've been down this road before...many times.

It's a good thing he graduated because he has no future in basketball!!! Well maybe a local rec league team will pick him up!!!

I feel bad for Cam. He signed on to play for a coach and a team that pressed the entire game, got up and down the floor, and shot a lot of open 3's and dunks. I think he had to go to prep school, then redshirt, then sit behind Lofton and JaJaun. I think he also had an injury in there somewhere. Then he finally gets on the floor and Pearl decides his teams can't press and he goes to a slow down grind it out style of play. Pearl gets in trouble, and here comes Martin with his motion offense. Tatum might have thrived in a more up tempo style, but we will never know.

Part of me does as well. The other part sees Cam making the same mistakes and more than he did 4 years ago. He's a man now. He's 23. Body language, focus, etc, are all on him. He's had time to mourn.

Why would an Up Tempo style help Tatum? I don't see anything really helping him other than getting in the gym and working on his game a little more. THis team is scoring at a higher rate than last years team, so it seems we are more up tempo. Just don't think it would matter. Cam is Cam. What you see is what you get.

Pressing and up tempo would mean more open court run outs. Cam does a fairly good job finishing around the rim in transition. Cam has few to no offensive moves, doesn't change direction well and doesn't seem to have a really good handle. However he is listed at 6'7", has good straight line speed and shoots pretty well if he is allowed to spot up. His skill set lends itself more to an up and down the floor game.

His skill-set may lend itself more to an up and down game, but his knees do not. Cam could not survive more than 20 minutes in the system he signed up to play under Pearl now.
