In our early wins against Nova and Pitt, Tatum averaged 15.5 ppg. We don't win those games with him not playing well. In the last 7 games, Tatum is 5-for-28 on 3-pointers and is averaging 8.3 ppg.

Tatum has to play well and score for this team to make any noise in the NCAAT. It was obvious last night that we have no #3 option after Hopson and Harris. When Tatum is hitting perimeter shots, it opens up things for Hopson and Harris. It also allows Tatum to drive to the basket. Hopefully Tatum will break out of his mini-slump and be performing at a high level come tourney time.

He needs to step it up.....he seems lost, or lazy I guess at times the last 10 games or so.

certainly would be nice to get excited when the ball is in the hands of someone other than hopson and harris.

Totally agree! Tatum makes or breaks us. He's not the biggest piece of the puzzle but he is the keystone. However, we need melvin to play tough at point even if we are firing on all cylinders.

McBee is as much of an outside threat as Tatum is.

McBee, however, has no ability to either take the ball to the basket or give a shot fake and pull up for a mid-range jumper. So he really doesn't open things up much. All a defense has to do is make him take one bounce, and he will either pass or miss. McBee is basically worthless if he's not hitting better than 40% of his 3-pointers or shooting free throws down the stretch.

There are games where Tatum just disapears. I can't remember if it was the Georgia or Florida game but when I looked at the box score and saw how many minutes he got, I didn't even realize he had been on the floor. I feel like that's a concentration issue. He has shown he's got the talent and the skill to be a valuable player to this team. Either Tatum or Goins will have to become a viable scoring threat for this team to do anything past the first round.

Well, it didn't happen tonight. Cam's gotta score for us to win.
