ever in a game the last three years that one of our post players ever took the ball in the paint, realized they were double covered, then passed the ball out to a wing for a three? I'm sure there have been some moments but I just can't recall any. Can anybody help me?

Russell passed it back out last season. She hadn't been completely ruined by Dean & Holly yet..... :(

I've seem Mercedes do it never ever seen Graves or Harrison make that pass. Thinking I may have seen Moore do it in a game this season. Overall it is something we do not do and that seems to be on the coaches.

Izzy, Bashaara, Glory, Cain, Baugh, etc... have all done that. However, the player they pass to has to live up to their part of the bargain by hitting the shot.

Tennessee hasn't had the depth of 3 pt shooters in the past few years that they have in the past. It's not like when Angie, Meighan and Kinna were all on the court at the same time. This year, they can double with anyone other than the player guarding Ariel. Hell, they could send 4 players over as long as Ariel is covered. No one else (who Holly lets off the bench, that is) can consistently hit 3s, so teams can really pack it in the paint.

The three freshmen were all good to excellent long range bombers in HS. I wish Holly would try some lineups with 2 (or all) of them in the lineup with Ariel. The threat of their outside shot would be enough to keep opposing teams from swarming the middle.

Holly thinks the freshmen can't play defense. Like the people she puts in there can lol. I think the difference between the freshmen and several starting and playing a lot now is the freshmen are able to shoot the ball.

That's the issue I have with her reasoning. If players like Jones or Burdick truly were defensive stoppers, then I can see her keeping them in the game. But you have one who is turnover prone (Jones) and one with poor game IQ (Burdick), and the players they are defending are having field days. Throw in Ariel, who I would keep in the game for her scoring even though she is a defensive liability...if she's not making shots, give one of the freshmen a shot.

In the UTC game, Tennessee got scorched by a freshman who finished behind Middleton (who played sparingly in this game) in the state award races. Andraya, who is an inconsistent offensive player and is supposed to be the best defender on the team, gave up 27 points to this girl. Why keep her in for defensive purposes when she's not getting it done? Give Middleton a chance. Foster gave his freshman guard a chance, and it got him a win.

You be having me sometimes until you mention Ariel. She is not the answer. smh

And as a coach, turnovers isn't the problem, if she gets it back on the other end. Defense and Rebound is this team problem.

They need a reliable perimeter shooter, and Ariel is by far the best on the team. Until Alexa and Jaime start hitting more, Ariel is it.
