Can UT finish the season 11-1 or 10-2?

What will UT record be at the end of the year?

I think UT has a shot if they can get past LSU and GA. Ainge has never played better.

I agree, I do not see us beating LSU. Of course, I did not see LSU beating us in the 2001 SECCG either.

I think the key thing they have to do if they want to go 11-1 is to outscore the rest of their opponents.

This is the eighth time, that I have counted recently, of someone saying that we need to outscore our opponents.......

Love your hearts!:salute: :good!:

LSU is the only game on paper that i think we SHOULD lose...so i'll say 10-2. But i don't think there are too many teams on our schedule that wont' think they can't beat us...and i cant' disagree with that either.

the USC's, ARK's, Bama's of the world will still be tough games, i think all three look at it and say they have as good a shot as anyone at beating us...but we'll be favored in every game the rest of the season except LSU most likely.

still got to play the games though...remember 92? 1st year of the divisional formats...got off to a great start, beat UF...beat UGA...and were sitting pretty a top the SEC...only to lose 3 in a row to ARK, SC and BAMA. Nothing is guaranteed.

I think we can run the rest of the table, we just need to play our best with LSU

I guess the real answer to the question "Can UT finish the season 11-1 or 10-2?" is yes...yes they can.

Um...how bout...remember last year...don't think they were 5-6 on paper at the beginning
i'm just talking about the feel good mentality we have right now...last year was hardly feel good anything...yeah, i know we were #3 in the pre season, but that quickly evaporated.

In 92, we had defeated the supposed heavy weights on our schedule, and it was going to be a walk to the SEC CG. the only game left was Bama, and even losing that wouldn't affect the SEC CG spot. all we had to do was beat ARK, SC, KY, Vandy.

and we went on a 3 game skid...and lost to two teams we shouldn't have...on paper--and Florida got the nod in the SEC CG.

this is my point. you look at the remaining schedule this year and on paper, the only game we should lose, right now anyway, would be LSU....

but as we should have learned back then, on paper doesn't mean anything when you still have games to be played. Last year we were out of it before we got started. in 92, we had played our way into a great position...and blew it.

The bottom line is this...in the SEC "on paper" means swat.

if we're going to be favored in every game exept LSU then some people on this board might have a heart attack. Since we ALWAYS play better as the UNDERDOG!? WHAT SHALL WE DO?:ill_h4h:

I think we will probably lose one more game... to LSU or Alabama. Alabama is not a great team but they always give twice their normal effort against Tennessee.

I think UT's bound to lose at least one more if they don't win the rest of them.

Until we prove we can run the ball consistently and make key 3rd down stops, I'm voting 9-3. We also have to improve our kick-off and punt returns (as well as coverage on kicks). I figure we'll lose two out of the next 5 unless we correct those problems (I hope I'm wrong). Fortunately, we have LSU and 'Bama at home!!

Please don't let us lose to Spurrier - they looked awfully good against Auburn.

I voted 9-3, and I'd say that's worst case scenario. LSU is the one game that I worry the most about as to whether or nott hey can win, and with the SEC being as tough as it is, I could see the Vols losing 1 game in the Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky games.
