We have idiots tweeting negative crap at Tee before we knew he turned us down. For the record, I'm very disappointed at Tee and would be lying if I said this didn't change the way I feel about him to an extent, but my goodness leave the guy alone. He won us a national championship.

I agree. Don't be an idiot and tweet Tee Martin about not coming back to Tennessee. Leave him alone. He made a decision that he felt was best at the current time.

Agree with all of this. I do not feel the same affinity towards Tee due to this but no reason to bash the guy.

This should extend beyond Tee Martin. Anytime you feel in necessary to go to twitter and stalk players, recruits, coaches, or friends/family members of any of those groups, shove your phone and/or keyboard up your a$$ and try tweeting from there.

Disappointed at Tee? Really?

The guy basically begs us for a job a year ago and didn't even get a call back from Dooley/Hart. On top of that, he just moved across the country a year ago for this job.

All that and you expect him to come running the minute UT decides he's good enough to coach in Knoxville to the point of being disappointed with him?

I find NOTHING official on the internet regarding Tee turning us down. You people are so quick to jump on anything you hear. I can't believe you are trashing someone over a tweet that is probably not true.

Truly I think the over the top lauding as well as the over the top criticism by many members in the fanbase affected the coaching search more than people want to recognize. We put extreme pressure on people in a very public and often very ugly manner. You put a million + messages on a board and a guy just may start to think "can I live up to that hype?" You post a harsh critique on a 17 year old's "vision" or "desire" and he may just start thinking, "do I really want to put myself under their scrutiny for the next 4-5 years?"

Of course, now there will be several posts to the effect "if stupidity on a message board would affect his decision, then we don't want him." Guess what, we are missing on some very key hires and recruits. At a certain point we all need to look at ourselves and ask, "did I play a part in that decision?"

Listening to the show this morning, it may not be "official", but Ainge says he talked to Tee this morning on the phone, and that he was staying in LA. That is where the "source" for the tweet is coming from at TSR.

I agree 100% that we shouldn't bash Tee for his decision, if in fact he's not returning.

Having said that, do coaches and/or potential coaches actually take the time to read our drivel to the point it would affect their decision process?

Why? He made a decision based on what is best for his career and his family.

I wanted him on the staff and I'm dissapointed he chose otherwise but it certainly doesn't change my opinion of him as a person or his time as a Vol.

Noooooo. I googled tee martin and nothing is officially showing except something from TSR (get real) and SB nation which is taking it from TSR. I prefer to wait until is officially announced. And if we are turned down, well we move on! He has a family to think about. :zeitung_lesen:

I have heard it said that Tee is a little jealous of all the Peyton love, when he is the one who delivered the NC. Can't say I blame him for that.

I wouldn't go as far as they have, but you know what....Tee effectively b!tchslapped his alma mater by not only turning us down, but returning to help the individual that has done as much to put us in this position, as Dooley and Hamilton did. Not only that, but returning there means he is ACTIVELY HURTING HIS ALMA MATER ON THE RECRUITING TRAIL!

His job requires him to BEAT US for recruits in our own back yard....Ramsey and Hatcher are good examples.

And where was Tennessee when he wasn't hired at USC yet? Did we even bother to call the guy and interview him? No we didn't. Now we all have the audacity to get all pissy with him like spoiled children because he has a job somewhere else. NO offense but that's ****ing stupid.

It's downright comical how many yahoos here think everytime someone has a contrary opinion, that makes them an idiot. :loco:

SheepVols are 0-4. Your record is worse than Dooley's.

In this case, the yahoos are right. Your comment is idiotic. I guess coaches that coach against their alma maters should just lay down and let them win? After all apparently to you it's some kind of major sin to beat your alma mater.

really, last year when 7 assistants left Dooley's staff? We couldn't have found one job for Tee Martin to interview for??

Charlie Bagget left in 2011 and he was wide receivers coach. Tee coaches wide receivers.

Tee was hired in Feb 2012 at USC.

The fact is Dooley didn't give a shyt about hiring former Vols. So I don't blame Tee for staying at USC.
