Can we beat Vandy?

has caused us to loose game after game and I don`t think things will change until we get new recruits on the field.

I think we loose and NO bowl game.

We will beat Vandy. Don't be drama queens. We have played one of the hardest schedules ever. I to believe it will be a struggle with Vandy, but I do believe we will win this game because it is at home and we will be energised after last years embarrassment plus the opportunity to go bowling if we can take care of business these last 2 games. If we lose one of these games, then I will consider Butch.Jones coaching as being below par.

UT is less than mediocre. Funny how you put other teams down before we play them, and have to talk about their speed and talent after we get run.

Compared to Orgon, Alabama, Mizzou and Auburn yes we are less than mediocre. So I guess Vandy would look against those teams because they are so much better than we are? Funny how you think Vandy is a much better team before we have played them. :loco:

Of course after we win against Vandy I am sure you will not recognize that as a legit win. You will use something like "so what it's Vandy, we should have beaten them blah, blah."

Please don't root for UT and talk good about them when we are much better next year. Fans like you give real fans a bad name.

So lets get this right, because we got beat by 3 top 10 teams, somehow Vandy is on their level.

I think someone needs to proof read your posts. In case you forgot, Mizzou destroyed Vandy 51-28.

According to you then Vandy would not have been embarrassed by Alabama, Auburn and Mizzou. So they would be showing great energy after all that? Yeah that's a great argument. Vandy has played a cupcake schedule compared to us and has looked like crap along the way.

You are the one who somehow equates our performances against 3 top 10 teams to what we will do against Vandy. That's moronic.

Why would a win over Vandy be bad? According to you they are on the same level as Bama, Mizzou and Auburn. So a win over Vandy should be huge.

Yep that is what I'm saying. The talent between us and who we have been playing has been huge. Vandy does not have near the talent of those teams, therefore with us being at home that will give us the advantage we need to get over the hump. You may think I'm an idiot, but I didn't attack you so why are attacking me? You have your opinion and I have mine.

Vandy didn't play Oregon, Bama or Auburn. Vandy played UGA and UF after mass attrition. Using stats against opponents who are as dissimilar as ours have been is totally misleading.

The only opponents we have that had similar rosters when we both played them were SCAR, APSU and Mizzou (if memory serves). I believe we out performed Vandy against 2 of the 3 most similar opponents.

I am not attempting to prove a point regarding schedules vs UT. My point was to show that Vandy executed well in all their games...and I believe they will be a force to reckon with.

We've looked terrible for 3 straight weeks. Vandy has been trending the other way. Playing beat up teams or not they're getting it done. No one would bet Vols if it was played next week. I'd say Vandy is a 3 point favorite in that game, even with the bye week.. We've looked completely helpless on defense. We'll have to outscore Vandy as well. We won't stop them much..

Ill admit, I thought this was a FOR SURE win before the season started. They have really stepped it up over the coarse of the season while we have regressed. That win at the Swamp Saturday really makes me worried about this game. If we play the way we did against Auburn in the first half for the entire 60 minutes, then I think we win by 14! If we make the same ol mistakes, I just don't see us winning this game.

So, that is the question here guys.....will we beat Vandy next Saturday? If yes, why? If no, why? Just want to see where everybody's mentality is at right now!

I hope but I doubt it. All Vandy needs to do it put their fastest player in the backfield and tell him to run wide. I attended the Auburn game with an AU fan. I told him before the game the the AU qb would rush for 200 yards. He said "aw come on man."

That's the first time I have been called "big guy" by a male, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

If that (words in bold) was your point, you could have made the point without using stats that are almost meaningless when comparing dissimilar opponents.
