Can we get over the hump this weekend of being such bad road performers? We have looked terrible so far on the road. OR we got destroyed. FL we looked like we had never seen a football. Then we go to AL and get destroyed again. I understand we were outmatched by AL and OR . Although I expected to at least keep those games under 20 point losses.

I believe we're victims to scheduling in terms of Oregon and Alabama. I think, even if those games were at home, we would have been beaten handily. They're just too good. Florida is a different story. Florida was just bad football on both sides of the ball for both teams. Florida happened to play better bad football than we did, had a few breaks go their way, and it didn't help that our QB experiment turned out how it did while we had to face a backup QB that we didn't plan for. If we play Florida at home, I think we win that game. With that being said, that's one road loss that I see being due to the road. If we can get a quick start on offense with Dobbs, and our defense learns to self motivate (easier with an early offensive advantage) we have a good shot.

i think we will bounce back from last week (regardless of the outcome). i expect a better performance since we are not playing the best team in the country.

I've heard argument from several posters on here. What was there to plan for? A DT qb? Let's see, all they had to do was go back 1 week where they faced the best DT qb in college football.

These coaches get paid to figure things like this out. They didn't in this case. I just don't buy the whole, "we weren't prepared to face a qb who had never taken a snap or thrown a pass in college" crap!

First mistake right there.

And we see how well we did against Mariota. Whatever we did against him didn't really work out so well, but I doubt you go back and look at that immediately if you're a week away from another huge road game with a QB that isn't a run threat. We had to adjust our ability to contain a DT QB, but that didn't take priority the week of a game with a QB that isn't. I think that it's at least possible that it was, to some degree, a factor.

To be fair though, I've never, ya know, coached football, so I don't know. I'm not trying to make excuses for the staff or anything, I'm just voicing what seems to make sense to me. We play against Driskel the entire game, and I think we have at least a closer game. Of course, it doesn't excuse the fact that that was one of the worst instances of football I have ever watched, but just throwin' in my $0.02.

We played flat in the road games so far. I dont care if we were playing the Patriots. We came out flat. Seems like so far all the road games we have been flat.

These games aren't played in a vacuum. That's why they watch previous years tapes, look at match-ups, tendencies, contengencies, etc.

In 2012 Burton took a shotgun snap and took it to the house. The backup coming in for UF, wasn't that big of a deal.

I'm pretty sure if you told Butch Jones 2 minutes before the game that Driskel would be injured and UF would be forced to play a kid who had never taken a snap, that he would have liked his chances.

simple, we contain their QB from outside runs, don't give too much cushion on their amazon WR's, but still not giving up the long ball (thanky lawd Randolph and Moore Back) and our O line seriously steps up and "doesn't leave anything in the bucket" as Inky says and gives Dobbs some time, at least in the first half when the O line is fresh, we should be good to go.... shoot, my high school stadium wasn't much smaller than that place. I hear the only thing we need to worry about is catching some disease in the out-dated visitor's locker room. GO VOLS, whhip dey azz.
