Can / will Fulmer turn it around...

Yes, and I was pointing that out.

:boredom:

Like I said are you that desperate to find something to whine and gripe about? Do you verbally express every frustration that goes through your grey matter? Do you like to hear yourself talk?

One things for certain Richt, "Tubby" UM, LM, SOS even Shula's elevator is in an upward course. Unfortunately, Fulmer's years of downward flight finally hit "rock bottom" as he defined it.

Obviously, he must have had a second elevator car loaded with some fans in denial that haven't made ground floor yet.
I wonder if they realize we are well into the 2000's...

Are you kidding me, Fulmer's "elevator" can't go any further down than it did this year. Meanwhile, Richt is coming off the SEC Championship and Shula is coming off a 10-2 season, in which his team flirted with perfection. Both these coaches lose their star signal callers, and neither have capable replacements. Urban Meyer's highly touted spread option didn't exactly sizzle in the SEC, and it never will. The Gamecock's benefitted from a less than rigorous schedule and a down year in the SEC (they beat us, Florida, UK, Vandy, Arkansas, Troy St., and Central Florida.) If SC played our schedule, they would have ended up at 5-6 (replace Troy St. with Notre Dame and Arkansas with LSU.)

The only one of those coaches you mention who has a bright outlook for 2006 is Tubberville...and Auburn fans almost ran him off 2 years ago. That is something for all your Fulmer haters to think about.

Before I depart for a few days. Again I started this thread to ask if other UT Fans thought Fulmer had the wits to turn around a program that he personally ALLOWED to flatline.

If he can, hats off to him. But I strongly feel & I believe recruiting results are showing that dipping back in to the 80's & 90's UT Coaching pool will not get UT to the level it should shoot for. Improvement should seen in offensive production in 06. I feel just about any coach could improve over our last several seasons production w our given talent. But for UT to become a player again in the SECE, SEC & especially on the National scope may take more changes than some want to admit.

Next year will be a very pivotal year not only for CPF & his Staff but for something much bigger than those specific individuals...I'm talking about UT Football. Modest "marginal" gains in offensive production should not be acceptable in 06. Major improvement from game to game should be mandatory. Offensive expansion beyond that daring 8-12 yard bubble screen UT's had for decades has got to be introduced. Development of players has got to be a critical focus. The long practiced philosophy of not challenaging our speed has got to be banned. The very essence of any play, the offensive line quality has got to improve by bounds. If these simple & elementary elements are not realized in 2006, then I'm of the opinion UT's Coaching staff is in dire need of a complete enema. And I'm not speaking of a back flushing of "old buddies" found in CPF's little orange book.

If Fulmer had USC talent, we wouldn't have won a damn game!

The others will certainly give us all we want in the upcoming years.

Well, Pete Carroll had USC talent and couldn't win the National Title. Fulmer didn't have USC talent and won 5 games.

We can agree SOJ. I personally think the SEC west will be a beast next year with Auburn and LSU. I am not sold on Miles. As far as the east goes, it is not easy to replace QBs, and I am not sold on Meyer's offense. IMO the east is up for grabs next year.

EXCELLENT POST !!

I would say this post of yours, on a scale of 1 = sux and 100 = perfection, would be 93.904729505.

Never? As in zero chances out of 100? No way, complete inability to generate wins?

Would you define "sizzle". Numerically, of course. :clapping:

Not at all. You all give me more then enough to talk about. :birgits_giggle:

If you two want to bicker please take it to PM, the rest of us don't want to read it.

Thanks

Miles left everything intact when he got there. I dare him to push his own system and make those changes in the SEC. Meyer skated by with a lot of what Zook left him. We'll see Meyer's system more in effect next year. Clearly Leak can't handle it. There is a chance Leak might be benched if he can't quickly learn Meyer-ology.

I'd say a fool. You just agreed to a 14 year olds "historically" based view of UT football. :clapping:
i'm amazed at the wit and intelligence of some of the people on this board.

From what I can tell in reading the posts a lot of the "sheep" are not so much Fulmer idolizers. It seems that many of them just accept the fact the Fulmer will be the coach for the '06 season and they do not see anything productive in riding him down since we are stuck with him for at least another season whether we like it or not. There is some wisdom in that line of thinking, however, it can be fun to keep up the anti-Fulmer rant so I see the appeal of the other side of the debate. Now that the BCS NC game, and therefore the college football season, is officially over I am ready to let go of the disappointment of 2005 and hope for something better this year.

GO VOLS!! and pass the kool-aid. :gril1:
:eek:k: finally.

I'm amazed at the lack of wit and intelligence of some on this board, and what flavor Kool-aid do you like? I'm partial to grape. :whistling:

Kool-Aid's only useful function is to cut the taste of "Military Special" vodka. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is.
