The hammer is being dropped and some of my shows are being canned.

ABC is dropping FlashForward, Better Off Ted, Scrubs, and Romantically Challenged. Unofficially Happy Town has been axed but they are supposed to air the remaining episodes in June.

FlashForward is the big one for me. I like the show. But the ratings have been too low to justify continuing. I thought it was good but it didn't quite live up to the hype of being the "next Lost". Happy Town is another I thought had potential. The other 3 I couldn't care less, especially Scrubs. That should have ended years ago, or at the least last season. I mean last year's finale was the perfect series finale.

How will they ever be able to finish out the story line on FlashForward? I am very upset with this news. Why? Why? Whhhhy?

Well there is always the outside chance it gets picked up somewhere else but I wouldn't expect it. I could see it on SyFy but the budget would be slashed big time.

Scrubs was my favorite show until last year. Even still, it was decent enough to watch.

Oh. Phooey. I feel like networks don't give these shows a chance! I have gotten in to so many shows that they've cancelled before the end of the first season.

I don't understand a few things they did with FF

1) Why did they give it such a long hiatus? From mid November to March was way too long.

2) Why did they not air it on Tuesday night with Lost? FF goes along with Lost better than V does. I never understood why they set it up on the same night as Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

There were some stupid things they did with the script, with some bad writing and some not so great acting. I personally thought the whole Olivia/Lloyd "romance" was so forced and not believable, and Olivia went from "I'll never cheat" to "I want Lloyd" in the span of like one episode.

if you've watched Eureka, SGU, and Caprica, you'll realize that SyFy doesn't go cheap on the budgets of it's original programming. One of the big reasons why Stargate:Atlantis was canceled after 5 seasons was that it's SFX were getting too expensive.

now, their original movies are a different matter.

They aren't cheap but I would bet it would still be a pretty nice sized downgrade. Maybe if they cut out some characters it would save some money.

SyFy is funny. Their TV shows and mini-series are all usually pretty good; Eurkea, Caprica, Battlestar Galatica are/were all good and obviously not cheap, and the mini-series like Alice and Tin Man were good. But their original movies are crap; horrible plots, horrible special effects, and horrible acting. I don't think I've seen one yet that wasn't unintentionally hilarious.

I swear the syfy movies have like 3 possible plot lines, and they just insert a new monster.

And you're right, they are unintentionally hilarious.

I tried to get into V, but I just don't connect with it. I'm disappointed to see them pull the plug so early on Happy Town. That show looked like it had potential.

Maybe they made the Lloyd/Olivia thing happen so quickly because they knew the time left in the series is so short? I thought it was very silly and forced as well or maybe she's just easy?

I liked Happy Town...I can't believe they've made the decision to axe it after only three shows.

actually, I think it's intentional. SyFy is trying to recreate the cheesiness factor of SciFi movies of the past. Granted, the audience in the 50's and 60's were probably not as jaundiced toward camp as we are today. At least they're better than USA's continuing effort to make a fat, aging Steven Segal an action star.

As long as they don't cancel the Big Bang Theory I'm good, I'm in love with that show.

i hardly ever watch syfy. i used to tune in every now and then a few years ago when the programming wasn't as bad. you're not joking about the movies, though. for every halfway decent movie shown on that station there are about 100 cheesy ones.

my current (syfy) favorite is mega shark vs giant octopus.....
