Go Candace!

That was awesome. First dunk in women's basketball in an NCAA Tournament game.

Why is it no surprise that it was a USAF fan who pointed it out first?

I'm a Tennessee fan first and foremost. Then anyone who is beating up on Army or Navy :biggrin2:

Two dunks in one game...that's a definite first in women's college basketball.

Looks like the LV's are making a statement about the 2 seed. I hope they can keep rolling right through that bracket.

Boy, I'm out in LF. I thought the Lady Vols played yesterday. I'll just watch SportsCenter tonight. I won't be in front of cable tv until then. The game looks great on GameCast though. :p

And while it might be exciting to see Vince Carter hang on the rim and growl after an alley-oop dunk, I can guarantee you that no one wants to see Candace Parker do it.

I would like to see that. So much for that philosophy.

I think the guy is way off base. He acts as if the highlight of Parker dunking is being shown over and over again and being rammed down everybody's throat. His point about this being hailed as "Man walking on the moon" is a stupid overstatment.

It wasn't all that spectacular, but it was something never before seen in the women's game; nothing more, nothing less. The only people harping on this are the people who can't handle seeing it.

She's not the worst woman to dunk in a game.

She's the first woman to dunk twice in a game; the first woman to dunk in a tournament game; and I believe she is the first woman to dunk on anything other than a breakaway.

I'm not trying to pump this up as a great achievement in sports history . . . just saying that people look a little silly trying to minimize it.
