As the famous saying goes, "It's the economy, stupid".

She went to college to boost her chances of finding a great job once she got out of school, but now that that hasn't happened, Trina Thompson wants her money back. Thompson, a graduate of Monroe College, is suing her school for the $70,000 she spent on tuition because she hasn't found solid employment since receiving her bachelor's degree in April, according to a published report.

"They have not tried hard enough to help me," the beleaguered Bronx resident wrote in her lawsuit, filed July 24 in Bronx Supreme Court.
Sounds like $70k wasted on someone who just isn't that bright anyway. The IT industry is doing ok (based on what people in our industry are saying) but it sounds like she wants the univ to find her a position.

This woman needs to relax. From what I've heard, Obama will not rest until every American that wants a job, has a job. Hell, the college should just use this as their defense that everything possible is being done.

I see this stuff frequently. Students don't do crap about finding a job. We have a career center in the School of Business (rare as most are at the university level) but students don't even visit until their last semester or last month.

Then when we get companies coming in, they don't sign up for interviews or blow-off ones they signed up for. It's very frustrating.

she should move to New Jersey and apply to work for the state government. I heard a report that, since Inauguration Day, New Jersey has added several thousand to the state payroll and less than 20 private sector jobs.
