Auburn plays UGA, Bama, and LSU every year and they don't beat their chest about it. It's just their schedule. They beat Bama every so often, and it's usually a competitive game. They won the Natty in 2010, having played UGA and Bama back to back. In 2017 they played Bama and UGA (not once, but twice) in four weeks, won 2 of 3 and appeared in the SEC championship game as the West division representative. LSU played Bama and UGA in 2019 and won the Natty.
Please stop thinking that only teams with easy schedules win championships. Beat all the teams on your schedule and you might be surprised what happens.

Fans here used to take pride in playing the best, and being in the best conference. Used to look down on the lesser conferences, talking about how boring and bad those other schools and conferences are.

Now that we are winning again they want to duck out. As if we didnt get held out of the playoffs because of a loss to South Freaking Carolina. I dont remember that one on anyone's too difficult radar.

I am with you. I would rather keep our typical brutal schedule than have to suffer through twelve weeks of boredom and beating my chest about how we whooped up on 4-8 Kentucky again. We would still have Butch freaking Jones winning 11 games a season with a crap schedule and getting decimated in the playoffs or SEC championship game.

You're one of the few uga fans that are tolerable, so I will reply. I agree with you, you play who you play. But that does not erase the fact that uga's schedule in 2023 is milquetoast soft, outside of Tennessee. I think a lot of Tennessee fans would just like one year where we don't face a 3 beast gauntlet (Florida use to play a role).

Just once, it would be nice to have only ONE tough game.

Well, there is no denying that UGA’s 2023 SOS is laughable when compared to TN’s SOS. Playing in the Swamp, in Tuscaloosa, and hosting GA and aTm is a diabolical gauntlet to get through. And starting off the season vs Virginia isn’t exactly a cupcake nor is traveling to Lexington. Perhaps the off week before aTm and Bama will pay dividends.

Although, Bama at TN last season was even IMO the game of the year. I can only imagine how sweet that victory tasted!!! I bet a victory in Tuscaloosa or a win over GA in Neyland would be even sweeter. It’s a heck of a tough schedule but getting through it with even 1 loss would be a heck of a statement. I can understand that it stinks when you see how presumably easy GA has it compared to TN, but the potential is there for another meteoric rise for TN.

To be honest, I’m very ticked that the SEC cancelled the Oklahoma vs GA game. It’s BS. I hope you guys are able to successfully navigate this schedule up to the GA game. If so and if GA doesn’t falter before, that will be a game with huge build up. Possibly another game of the year for the Vols.

Yes it’s a terrible gauntlet, but on the bright side, TN fans have some great games to look forward to while Dawg fans get to watch UT Martin, Ball St, UAB, and Ga Tech. Ugh!!!

IF Georgia drops a game that schedule could conceivably cost them as well. That said it would be hard for them to lose with that schedule until the SEC title game.

I agree, no room for error. But I’ll admit, playing TN in Neyland is much different than playing TN in Sanford Stadium. That’s a tough game. Presumably our only very tough game depending on Auburn. Who knows though. Things can change.

Georgia & Alabama were not at their best and Tennessee was really good.
That was the best we’ve ever been in the modern era of football. Easily the most talented teams we’ve ever had. I think we were 45-5 through a 4 season stretch. Like you said, Bama had a few good teams and UGA was mediocre back then. Jim Donnan and Ray Goof? Sign me up for that .

A lot will depend on the QB position. That will probably be a very hostile environment. Without knowing anything about what either team will look like I would think Georgia will have to run the ball effectively to win that game; I think Garner will have the Dline ready for that challenge as well. Georgia will be very good, very talented but idk if they will be ready for that environment especially if you have a young guy starting at qb

No longer an even playing field unfortunately. If Georgia and Alabama had swapped schedules this year - Alabama would be the National Champions. There is a great imbalance in the force to begin with - now NIL creates more of an imbalance in the SEC. One of the reasons Auburn is churning coaches is their SEC schedule is hot garbage. Auburn hasn't been competitive the last few years and they won't be the next 5-10 years. What happened 12,13 years ago has 0 relevance.

You play who is on your schedule and win. That takes care of it. Everything else is just noise.

Enjoy it while you can Dawg. Getting a NC by winning 3 competitive games a year is not going to last for long. SEC expansion, rotational scheduling in the SEC, 12-team playoff, and NIL funding of a dozen or so super-teams are all trending against you. “Dynasties” are going to be short-lived.

Meh. Technically we should be your toughest game in the regular season next year, but UGA always seams to play their best against us and we always lay an egg rather the game is in Sanford or Neyland. I don’t think we’ll really be competitive against UGA until we start bringing in top 5 classes consistently. I’m probably about to be bashed for saying that, but it’s true. We looked like an elite team heading into our game this season but once again, Kirby had your boys firing on all cylinders. Infuriating.
