I don't see a scenario where Bama doesn't finish in the top 4 of the BCS. Top 4 = automatic BCS berth.

Is there a chance where you guys would go to the Rose Bowl if Michigan State loses?

I'm not sure, after the Wisconsin loss, that there would be another Big 10 team in the appropriate acceptance range for the bowl to take…though I guess if Michigan State were to have a short enough drop it could possibly still take them.

Ala**** isn't going to the Capital One Bowl.

Of course not. It's just a joke that Cap One would want them since Oregon, FSU, Baylor, and other teams have wanted them all season in the title game. And even Bammer had t-shirts saying "You don't want Bama!"

Could it be possible that if Ohio SU loses that they play Bammer in a BCS bowl? I don't pull for Bammer but I'd like to see Urbie lose to them.

Sugar Bowl rematch if Auburn wins the SEC title game....

Only way that could happen is if Florida State loses. No way Bama would deserve it otherwise.

Besides it would probably save Bama from another a** whipping.

If FSU loses, the SEC Champ will be a lock for the BCS title game.

The Sugar would kill for that.

But I think the Orange gets to pick a replacement first, and Alabama would be really tempting.

Orange does pick first out of the at-large pool this year, but before they get to that, the bowls losing teams to the title game get to pick their replacements. Rose has an advantage, in that they have two conferences, so if they lose either team, they get an early replacement pick.

Since FSU is #1, Orange would pick first. It's been assumed they would take Clemson. They can only take Bama with this pick if Auburn/Missouri is in the Sugar Bowl and not the BCS title game. If the title game is FSU/OSU, then it appears that the Rose could match Bama with the Pac-12 Champ if the Orange takes Clemson instead of Bama. I think Orange would toss the ACC Champ here in favor of taking Bama, especially when you figure that Clemson will still be available when the regular picking begins.

Orange does pick first this year.
What I don't know is when the Rose would pick if they don't retain their traditional match-up.

In the past, the Rose has passes over more deserving candidates in order ro maintain a Big 10 - Pac 12 matchup. But the Big 10 has such a weak slate of candidates this year, so who knows...

You replied before I could finish editing my post.
Rose would get to pick a replacement team for OSU before the regular round of at-large selections, but Orange would get to go first, because they're replacing the #1 team.

Here's my predictions. Let's assume no upsets. So, FSU beats Duke, Ohio State beats Mich. State, and NIU wins the MAC.

If...BCS Title Game: FSU vs Ohio State
Orange: Alabama vs Clemson (could also take Baylor or a Pac-12 team)
Rose: Pac-12 Champion vs Michigan State
Sugar: SEC Champion vs UCF
Fiesta: Oklahoma State vs NIU

If...BCS Title Game: FSU vs SEC Champion
Orange: Clemson vs Baylor (could also take a Pac-12 team)
Rose: Pac-12 Champion vs Ohio State
Sugar: Alabama vs UCF
Fiesta: Oklahoma State vs NIU

Pac-12 title game is Stanford at Arizona State. The loser will have three losses. Oregon is sitting there at 10-2 but has acted disinterested since their first loss. They made it clear that the Rose Bowl wasn't enough motivation for them, and they went out and lost again. I suppose it's possible the Orange Bowl will still take the Ducks for the hype. Regarding Bama vs UCF…sigh.

I agree. I think the SEC champ should be in. However, for Bama to get in, Floirida State has to lose. I would take Bama over Ohio State.

It would be Bama's only way to get another back door title.

Only way FSU loses is if that Florida DA charges Winston with a felony before the ACC title game

They said they won't make a decision on it until after Heisman voting is over and the football season has ended.

Convenient, right?

yep - What do you think will Winston lose votes because of it all ?

Don't know. At the same time, I think after the performances last week by Heisman candidates - or more lack thereof - I'm not sure there's anyone else they can reasonably give it to.

The Boston College RB got injured in the first half and missed the rest of the game.

Mariotta is felt to already have been out of it after the Arizona game (though his performance against Oregon State wasn't bad, but it wasn't really great either).

Manziel hasn't played well the last two weeks.

McCarron wasn't bad…but there's partially that he lost, his numbers were good but not great, and as some seem to put it he doesn't seem like a pick who has the appeal the committee wants in a Heisman winner.

And really, of all the candidates, Winston is the only one playing during championship week (unless there's someone from the Big 12, the Big 10, or the Pac-12 that I'm forgetting about).
