was laid to rest today in Jacksonville, Alabama. I took off work today in order to pay my respects to the Family and for the service of this brave soldier. I stood in awe as people kept coming and coming. It is approximately 5 miles from the church to the cemetary, the entire route had people standing holding American flags as he passed by. It was hard to stand there and not shed tears. It was a very solemn procession.

There were approximately 1000 members of the Patroit Guard that rode in the procession, each having its on American Flag. Standing next to my wife and I were a young couple with their 3 children, the oldest being about 6. Seeing those little ones there holding the American Flag, I know some of them probably didn't understand why they were there, but the great thing was that they were. My hats off to those parents.

I felt a since of pride today, doing something that I have never done before. Seeing all these people standing together, not saying a word, was chilling.

The westboro group did not show and thats probably best that they didn't. Maybe someone told them that this was Alabama.
