Alignment on 2000 Honda Accord

I'm looking at replacing at least the front tires on my car so I had my alignment checked. I just wanted a second opinion on the numbers that I got from the shop today with regard to that.

Apparently nothing on my car is really "adjustable" so if I really wanted to correct the front I'd have to buy a pair of shims($53.99 for pair). If I want to get the left rear corrected they'll have to order an adjustable arm($129.00). My question is do you guys see any numbers that jump out at you that say "go ahead and fix that before getting new tires"?

As of right now I don't have any noticeable pull to the left or right with regard to the front end.

Yep, you need a camber kit for it. How many milea are on it? Are you getting noticeably irregular wear?

did your old set of tires wear well ? if it isn't to expensive,I would try to get the problems fixed

you can get a second opinion too, they didn't use to charge if they didn't do anything,I'm not so sure about that these days :)

~174,000 miles
I haven't really checked the rear tires to see what the wear has been like on them but they've definitely got more tread than the fronts.

They didn't charge for the estimate.

It'll be $74.99 for the alignment charge with an additional $129.00 for the adjustable rear arm and an additional $50 for labor to install it.

damn 254 bucks for an alignment ? but with 174k miles on it,I'd say it needs it,I don't like these new cars with out any adjustments on them,I was surprised when I took the Buick to Wal Mart for an oil change and found out there are no lubrication points under it

i did move up from the 80's to the 00's :) went from an S10 to a Buick,I miss my old truck lol

$254... Right?! I ought to put that arm on myself and then take it back. If nothing is adjustable under the car anyway what am I paying the $75 for?

I guess coming from an 80's car to a 00 is a "new" car to you.

I trust this Buick is a bigass old man's style Buick right?

that is the adjustable arm ? just be sure your fairly close to the alignment place :) I'd do it before you take it there and how hard is it to replace ?

well? what have you decided coug ? :)

I really haven't to be honest.

What's likely going to happen is I'll be buying tires first out of sheer necessity and safety reasons and have to push the alignment to a later date. The saving grace is I don't think it'll be a problem in the short term since I'm not having to drive the car quite as much. The money just isn't there for me to do both right now.

Are any of the tires really eaten up on the inside compared to the outer tread?
