Carson Beck has two cars stolen overnight

Like most college athletes, Carson needed both a Lamborghini and a Mercedes. His girlfriend's SUV was stolen as well. Helluva security system in place wherever he lives in Miami.

This isn’t new. They even arrested seven people in the theft group this week. Several high end athletes have had their stuff stolen

Yeah, I think this is pretty common. I would imagine that these high end vehicles are often hidden on a ship in international waters before they are even missed. Especially in Miami, where the is no end to high end vehicles and no end to ship cargo traffic.

I figured they were in a garage in Athens

Another kid that is very responsible with all the NIL money he was given. Lets buy a Lambo and Benz who cares that I will be coaching high school football in 5 years for $45k/year.
With millions (and millions) to come in between. He can bounce around as a backup at worst for years. Stop telling people how to spend their money and assume they dot have portfolios

lol, could be, but HS head coaches in my neck of the woods make way more than 45k. Often times they are by far the highest paid county or city employee.

These vultures are just circling over all of sports right now. It’s just gonna get worse. If a player has an away game, they are targets to have their homes, cars, belongings raided.

It is irresponsible, no matter how you look at it. Saying so isn't "telling him how to spend his money." It's just pointing out the obvious. He spent 400k on cars, even just simply moving 350k to a HYSA would generate nearly 15k a year in interest. Football is a dangerous game and his next one could be his last and he'd probably wished he didn't blow his NIL on cars to look cool.

He’s making around 3.5m next year while still in college. His gf is prolly making more with her social media influence. Stop acting like he spent his entire wad on one car. It’s 1/10th of what he’s making this year alone

You know how many athletes go broke less than 10 years after they retire? A lot. If he was smart he'd be saving 3 million this year and live (like a king) off the 500k.

It’s a little frustrating to witness as someone who will never see that amount of money at one time. These qbs and other high-paid athletes are getting enough that they could flex a little (buy the Rolex, or better yet the Patek or the Omega), get a nice Audi or Lexus or something (with cash) and still have pleeenty left over to throw in an index fund and then be assured that if they want to take up a career as a beat poet or a woodcarver after their playing days are over they could still be very wealthy.

Edit: And @volfanbill is correct that with the amount he’s pulling in, he may well still be investing quite a bit. I’m sure we’ll hear some horror stories in 5-10 years though of big NIL earners who frittered everything away and end up in low-wage jobs.
