No chance anybody gets remotely close to 1,000. A-Rod has a shot at 800, but a lot of things have to go his way. 10 years ago, people were saying the same thing about Ken Griffey Jr.

Everyone has already caught up with Bonds in terms of records that mean anything.

I'd say it's about a 50-50 shot that Rodriguez passes Bonds. The next few years will be critical. You have to figure that if Rodriguez is not juicing, he'll have a normal decline arc like every other great player in history, and that means he's not going to be hitting 35 homers a year when he's 42.
