What's the law?

I thought folks were innocent until found guilty before a jury of their peers. Didn't realize we were a pitchfork and torches kind of crowd.

How many kids go missing when the family knows exactley what happened, and does not report it.

Not going to go read another new law proposal. We probably have enough. If it is aimed at getting Nancy Grace off of TV, I could rethink my position.

That should be the end of it. This appears to be the weakest form of vote gathering to me.

Agreed. I'm getting sick of hearing these obnoxious reactions from peoples' gut feelings. The reactions obviously aren't coming from anywhere else.

Is this one of those lame Facebook things?

No. This is for real. It makes it a felony if you don't report your child is missing within a period of time. I see nothing wrong with this as long as the details make sense and it should be passed by all states

Obviously the Jury disagrees but honestly I felt she was guilty of neglect just because of those 31 days. But then again no one truly knows when she died, but to me that was the strongest evidence they had against her aside from the lying charge she was convicted of. It's sad and tragic no doubt, and I have no doubt in my mind that the mother and her family had their hands in this but to what extent and how: only they and God knows that answer. I wouldn't be shocked if this was all an accident and they freaked out and tried to "hide" it from the law...

I'm wary of any reactionary law. With that said, I'm not sure why you wouldn't report your child as missing if you suspected it for more than, oh say, a few hours....

This is f***ing stupid. I got 7 damn invites today on Facebook to join a group that supports this "law."

Did you join?

No, they were all from people I had been meaning to delete anyways. Seriously, on Tuesday my feed was full of this bull****. It's completely asinine that the entire country is knee deep in the problems of someone else. I've been thankful for Versus' coverage Le Tour de France.

If that's really all that is, then I don't see why some people are up in arms about this, unless they just think others are overreacting to a verdict they didn't agree with.

it's a reactionary law from a singular event. If it's a good law now it will still be a good law in 6-12mos once emotions have calmed down

It's a bullshiz law requiring something of a parent that the govt has no business requiring. If I'm dude from Taken, I wouldn't tell the idiots either. You end up wit a bunch of clown who want to be on the news rather than solve the problem.
