Accurate.
sjt18 erroneously posted the same "against the backups" info yesterday in another thread. Why?
Always easy to make tough decisions from the comfort of your moms basement.
CBJ is just trying to make the decisions that give his team the best opportunity to win. It's not an easy decision throwing in a true freshman against #1 Alabama on the road, it just isn't.
I do not care who starts, Dobbs will play Saturday.
Dobbs may start or come in as a change of Pace QB, his RS is gone now and CBJ is not going to waste a RS for a half of a football game.
IMHO Worley starts Saturday if he is able to go but if the Offense does not get a fast start or Worley Struggles then Dobbs comes in. If the Offense and Worley are having some success then Dobbs will play in certain packages the staff will install this week or when the game is decided either way he plays.
Dobbs starts no matter what against Auburn at home and the rest of the season and I really do believe this. I think CBJ would be more comfortable starting the true Freshman at home then on the road, let him get some game experience on the road and let his first start be in the friendly confines of Neyland Stadium.
I am thinking if Worley is out we may see Ferguson Saturday also. The only question is does CBJ want to burn both RS of the Freshman QB's.
The bottom line is CBJ is going to play the QB who gives the team the best shot at getting to a bowl game.
He was 5/12 against Bama's back ups and threw into coverage in ways that he wouldn't get away with against their starters.
Agree with you except for "starters" comment. Yeah there were some 2/3 deep guys in the game but both starting safeties and half or more of the starting D were in on both scoring drives. Saban wanted a shutout.
Also, I thought it was odd that McCarron was still in at the 8 minute mark throwing into the end zone. I don't have a problem from the "running the score up" angle; its the Vols problem to stop them, but hey its already 42-10 with no chance of the Vols coming back and what happens to your NC dreams if AJ gets hurt in what should have been mop up time?
But hey Nick gets paid more in a week than I make in a year so I guess he had a good reason.:whistling:

I have no idea. He absolutely loves Worley, thinks he is a "very good" QB and just makes stuff up all the time to argue that point. I busted him out on it so many times I believe he put me on ignore.
He said in another thread that he didn't see any dropped passes while Dobbs was in. He also said Dobbs had 1 postive run (he had 3). He said Dobbs didn't have more zip on his passes than Worley. He is delusional and everyone should be busting him out. I would of thought he was a troll if he hadn't been on the board for so long.
Why would you burn a redshirt on a freshman QB in the 2nd half of an unwinnable game for no reason?
Easy, you wouldn't. Worley could take snaps and just hand the ball off or hell, even Pig Howard could have taken snaps at QB to do that.
Dobbs went into the game because the decision was made that he is the next starting QB for the University of Tennessee.
You don't burn a redshirt to play a kid ONLY in the 2nd half of a meaningless game.....you just don't. It doesn't make sense.
So its official, Worley, Peterman, Dobbs or Ferguson will start!
Glad we cleared that up!
.
Don't get me wrong, After that one ball came out of his hands without him being touched and Justin winced in pain he should have been pulled. Coach makes decision on who is in vs the player's pride ahead of what is best for the team.
Worley's health was, and is, still in question. They had to get Dobbs some snaps so he would be prepared if he has to start a meaningful game against mizzou.
