Totally agree, have very fond memories of Petrino's second-to-last blowout loss in '11.

Kentucky-UF is a weird 3:30 game but there are no better options thanks to ABC claiming the Battle. Just a bad week.

Was that the game where Petrino was caught mouthing "**** you" to Miles?

The SEC front offices want to push Arkansas as a natural rival for Missouri; that's just the way they chose to go about it.

Putting it on the day after Thanksgiving - a day that pretty much CBS is going to win the ratings regardless - accomplishes that, plus CBS doesn't have to worry about its ratings dropping by showing Missouri (and it gets CBS out of any later need to necessarily have to show Mizzou with future selections).

If this year's any indication, the SEC front offices seem like they might be leaning towards trying to make LSU vs A&M into a Thanksgiving evening game.

Pretty much.

For the first two weeks, CBS has to purchase an SEC home-team game from ESPN, pretty much meaning they've got second or third choice.

Since it looks like the contract for the Tennessee v VT neutral site game was written up so that ABC would broadcast it and Arkansas is the visiting team against TCU, ESPN went ahead and selected South Carolina vs Mississippi State with that first selection...leaving only the following options:

Nicholls State at Georgia
Prarie View A&M at Texas A&M
Kentucky at Florida
Western Kentucky at Alabama
Middle Tennessee at Vanderbilt
Wofford at Ole Miss
Arkansas State at Auburn
Jacksonville State at LSU
Eastern Michigan at Missouri

Its the day after Thanksgiving -- the NFL 'owns' that day

Sorry, that was a typo. It was supposed to say "Putting it on the day after Thanksgiving," not Thanksgiving day.

So intended point was:

Putting it on the day after Thanksgiving - a day that pretty much CBS is going to win the ratings regardless - accomplishes that, plus CBS doesn't have to worry about its ratings dropping by showing Missouri (and it gets CBS out of any later need to necessarily have to show Mizzou with future selections).

The A&M-LSU game is Thanksgiving evening though.

Who knows, by the end of that stretch, maybe Jalen Meves-Raybin will change his name to Jalen Reeves-Maybin!

And Shy Tuttle won't have graduated yet. Since Verne told the world he was a SR and 4 yr starter during the FL game.

The Florida, Georgia, and Alabama games will certainly be on CBS. I'd bet big money on all 3 of them being chosen by CBS.
