How many times has UGA been on CBS this yr? I just found the following so maybe this has something.m to do with it:

As part of an extension to CBS's contract with the SEC through the 2023–24 season, CBS no longer has exclusivity during its afternoon window, but still has the first choice of games. CBS was limited to airing five games featuring a particular team per season, and was allowed to air one game in primetime per season.

How is CBS passing up Ole Miss/UGA? Is next week the week ESPN gets first pick.
CBS can only take a team 4 or 5 times during the year.
They've known all along they want UGA at UT on the 18th...really the only game that week and it still has SECE implications.

So it left CBS flipping the coin between UGA/Ole Piss or UGA/Vols.

Ratings will be through the roof if Ole Miss happens to beat UGA because the winner of UGA/UT goes to SECCG with no debate, questions, or tie breakers.

Georgia has already been on CBS five times this season.

Means we will stay motivated to play throughout the game. If ga loses we still have a chance. I'd be worried if ga plays at 12 and we play after. Then our motivation is gone if ga wins. Ga plays after us.

Maybe since ESPN Gameday is there they didn’t want to play second fiddle. Or ESPN & CBS could’ve had a handshake deal in place since Herbstreit would already be in Athens, so he & Fowler could call the game.
