I don't really think Tennessee lacks for motivation, but UGA might. So I hope we are #2.

I think UGA has plenty of motivation. Tennessee has been the talked about team all season. Georgia is the defending National Champion who has been on the back burner with very little conversation about them, unless it was to talk about how they didn't beat Kent State and Missouri by enough. They'll be motivated.

Yeah probably. I just like the dynamic marginally better if they are #1.

I want to be #1 to prove that the committee respects our resume. If we're #2 or #3 and lose, I just don't see us climbing back into the top 4 without a lot of help. If we're #1 and lose to say #2 - I will sleep better at night.

Selfish of me, but I want some respect from the committee

So for the sake of discussion and pretending this poll is accurate and Tennessee is not in the top four ( really 😂) after we beat number one ga Saturday they will be out?
Kicked to the Kirb so to speak

Their path is harder unless Oregon wins out.

it's so hard to know how to take it and what to expect... if we are #2 or lower and we get beat by the #1 team... isn't that technically expected then based on the rankings v/s if we were #1 and get beat by #2 or less... would we then drop more? i dont know

It's been interesting to hear the different opinions of media people on this since the Alabama game. The resume people say we should be #1 and the preconceived notion people say Ga or OSU but definitely not us. There is probably not a person on that committee who thinks TCU would be Alabama but they will probably have TCU ahead but they may not say Tennessee has the best wins and has accomplished more and should be #1 until that changes.

CFP committee is full of Michigan, Ohio and Notre dame homers!

Yet the SEC has gotten 2 teams into the playoffs twice while the B1G never has. Most CFB fans that hate the playoff committee do so b/c they appear to be influenced by ESPN and ESPN has a massive financial interest in the SEC doing well while Fox has broadcast rights to the B1G.

We will see, the committee supposedly bases their ranking on accomplishments vs strength of schedule. That's why so many have predicted we'd be #1. Our resume towers above the other teams in the top 6.

Normally there's not two BIG teams that are in the conversation due to scheduling and losses.
However any given year there are 4+ sec teams that could win it all.
