What changes should have been made?Sanders I quess.
I also noticed on that page where another ignorant Bama fan took a shot at the Vols/Fulmer.I wonder if thats the same guy I saw in Florida a few days ago as he and his woman cruised the PCB area, riding in the back bed of a pick up truck, leaning against the tailgate of the truck. If it pops open he would be on the pavement.Funny, when I first saw the truck I was wondering Georgia or Alabama.Bama tags!:biggrin2:

The question I ask is, how many coaches who's teams started to lose were able to turn their program around and win again?

Most of the top programs in this country never have had the kind of losing season UT just had. USC, Oklahoma, Texas, etc never have experienced that with their current coaching staff. The majority of the time, when a program begins to have losing seasons the existing coaching staff usually can't turn it around before he is terminated and a new coach is introduced.

As a side note, Texas went 4-7 in 1997 which lead to their new/current coaching staff. And if you think things were bad for us last year... they got beat 66-3 at home by UCLA (who we beat the same year).

USC wasn't that great until Carroll got there. I think they averaged like a 6-5 record for a few years and had a losing season or 2 and that was in probably the late 90's and maybe 2000

I'll bet it was the guy who works the register at the Krispy Kreme store on Kingston Pike.

No it's not you. It's a lazy press corps who sit around in their offices, at their computers and dream up stories. No one leaves the office to get a real story. Typical for the Fourth Estate. No wonder they are referred to as "the drive-by media."

I'm tired of all these articles about how bad last season was. Lets just play ball and put that horrible season in the past. In my opinion, the season will fall on the shoulders of Arian Foster and the running game. I think Ainge will need one full season under Cutcliffe before we really start to see something of All-American potential.

I think its more a reflection on Fulmer's tight lip policy toward the media. He doesn't give them anything to write about, practices are closed, and even the orange and white game was very vanilla. Thats fine, when you have a winning season, but if Fulmer doesnt turn the program around next year, he shouldn't expect a lot of sympathetic coverage by the media.

He basically made their jobs more difficult, so I dont expect them to be holding back any punches. I'm not faulting Fulmer, for closing practices, etc thats one of the reasons I think all the stories on Fulmer and UT seem to sound the same.

I do think its pretty silly on Fulmer's part to infer that the media might have anything to do with last years losing season. If he things that had any part in last years disappointment and being tight lipped is going to make teh team play better, I think he is going to be disappointed.
