It may be correct but anything coming out of Clay Travis' mouth I automatically convert to the Peanuts' adults voices.
His book Republicans Wear Shoes Too was really good though. Can’t argue with the fact that politics invading sports is not good, causing more division and frankly just takes the fun out of it.I am surprised about the hate of Clay Travis on here. Big media guy that is a Vols fan. Granted, maybe it is the politics. I think he definitely pivoted too hard into the political arena 6-7 years ago. Sadly, that makes money.

Left or Right the world would be a lot better if people would just enjoy things without letting politics into it
I mean....I guess but coming from Travis that rings extremely hollow and hypocritical given how involved in politics he is now. I usually find his type do not argue in good faith; what they mean by "keep politics out of sports", they mean the stuff they don't like. They are fine when things they agree with are pushed. Or they argue that things they like aren't really political when they 100% are.
I agree with the principle but I'm not buying the sentiment from a guy like him.
I couldn't care less about his politics. I don't like him because the clown would take thread topics straight off this board and report it as "reports from Knoxville". Travis insinuated he was somewhat of an insider at UT, which isn't/wasn't remotely trueI am surprised about the hate of Clay Travis on here. Big media guy that is a Vols fan. I think this was talked about in the off season but I could not find the thread after looking back 5-6 pages. Clay Travis recently brought it up again with numbers from this season.
Tbh, I’ve only heard snippets from CT. How has he lost credibility? From what I HAVE heard, it’s his delivery and long winded approach getting to the point that hasn’t held my interest.I no longer pay any attention to anything Clay Travis says and never will. Has lost all credibility.
Having said that, does anybody miss the commentary from Gary Danielson? CBS losing the SEC broadcasts was the best thing that ever happened to us. As the old Roy Clark song went: “Thank God and Greyhound You’re Gone”.
This is why I don’t like him. He’s skilled at reading a wind vane and that’s about it.I couldn't care less about his politics. Grifters don’t start, build and sell $100M+ empires.I hated him before the politics because he's always been a loudmouth jackass who desperately wanted to be the new Jim Rome type back when Rome was the biggest "hot take" guy out there.
He may be a Vol fan but he went too far in the Dooley years by slurping James Franklin and he actively trolled UT and UT fans during that time. The lead up to the 2011 Vandy game UT had bought out the UNC game the next year and he tweeted out "Maybe UT should buy out the Vandy game." He talked all week how Vandy was going to beat UT and then when UT won in OT and the celebration video came out in the UT locker room he tweeted how pathetic it was that UT was that excited for beating Vandy. His slurping of Bruce Pearl after he was hired at Auburn and again trolled UT fans was also pathetic.
Also he's a major grifter. Most people are probably fine with his politics but he's a been a jackass for a very long time.
The only thing I miss about CBS is the theme song, and their production value was generally top notch.I no longer pay any attention to anything Clay Travis says and never will. Has lost all credibility.

Is he really a Vol fan? He sure liked to slurp James Franklin when Franklin was at Vanderbilt.I am surprised about the hate of Clay Travis on here. Big media guy that is a Vols fan.
