Don't think I've seen the comparison before (probably because completely different), but what ye say?

What I mean is the fact that no one was excited about the hire, kind of like "ehh". Anyone think CCM could be our Chizik? Win a natty or get us close, sooner than anyone would rationally believe?

Possibly. Both are defensive minded coaches. But they're right, he needs to find a star if were going to be winning the Big Dance.

I do find the "pay to play" argument persuasive but I personally think he's got something no one saw at the time of hire. I guess in that sense he's ahead of chizik

Chizik sucked at Iowa State. Martin did not suck at Missouri State.

The reaction by some to hiring Martin really shows that many Tennessee fans don't know that much about basketball. I'm not saying I was sure Martin was going to win big, but I didn't understand the negativity surrounding the hire.

Chizik was hired because he's a yes man and knows what really goes on at Auburn and will do what he's told. No comparison at all.

As far as no one expecting the hire, yes. Anything else, no! Cheesecake is a mediocre coach at best imo. As a HC he is 35-29 and 21-29 without Cam. Coach Zo can coach, period!
