CCM should be the unanimous choice for SEC coach of the year. If he isn't there is no justice in the voting process. I know some will say Cal should or will win it, but Ky is always favored to win the conference title with a team of 1st round NBA picks. We were picked 11th out of 12 teams for God's sake and will finish no worse than 4th, could finish as high as second. If the voting is fair CCM should win hands down IMO.

Even with incredible talent, going defeated in conference play is a great coaching accomplishment. I'm not sure if that can be ignored.

Cal will win, unless he loses to FL today. As much as I hate it. CCM should definitely have some strong consideration though.

I could take Kentucky to an undefeated league record. Pump up the ball and roll the ball onto the court and sit back and watch. Pretty simple job when you have the national player of the year and 3 or 4 NBA players starting

While I was watching the game Jimmy Dykes made a pretty good point that CCM and Cal could win co-coaches of the year. It's been done before 07/08 Pearl and Gillespie won co-coaches of the year.

I think it should be Cal

With that said...this awards is voted by CIA he's and cal is not well liked, I could see CCM getting it.

I do not know about unanimous, but MAYBE consider it. Hard to overlook UK going undefeated, and in most cases not even giving the opponent a chance.

What reasons do you have for thinking Cal should win?

I think CCM should win because we were picked 11th and may finish 2nd. KY was picked to win the league and did. I realize they could not overachieve and that may a little unfair but just the way I see it.

I agree with the thought....Cal was not pushed hard by the competition this year. Did not have to show his greatness. CCM had to work this team to get it where it is now....so great coaching at UT this year.

i hate cal as much as anyone, but the way he has a team full of 5 star talent playing defense like they are cant be ignored. an example of the opposite-see rick stansberry.

FOr CCM not to get COY would be robbery. He took a team that was not even expected to win more than 3-4 SEC games to a (possible) 2nd place finish in the SEC (after a 1-4 start. Yes, KY has had a great season, as expected with 4 NBA first round picks. CCM and the VOls had them on the ropes in Knox. and should have beaten them.
