Hammy used his time management skills, he was AD and HFC, to sell his decision. Everyone looked him up and skeptically jumped on the band wagon. I think we had delusions due to being fanatics. Heck I still like Dooley, just not as a coach.

Everyone was pissed we didn't get someone better...Then he had a drawl in his press conference and people jizzed themselves over it...Kinda like how some people are ready to jump off the Henley Street bridge in anger over us potentially hiring Charlie Strong, the best possible candidate

I think I said something along the lines of, "they just hired Goober Pyle."
The reaction was underwhelming to say the least. No one knew who he was.

People tried to spin it and say Dooley would be a monster recruiter, he coached under Saban, good pedigree, etc. Of course, none of that turned out to be true, and the naysayers were 100% right from day one.
