I know he didn't get drafted after a horrible senior year. But, after that, I don't know what happened. He's probably selling cars somewhere.

I think he plays in the CFL I am trying to find confirmation.

I found a couple of dead links mentioning Davis and the Jets, although I could not find him on any current NFL, Europe, or CFL roster. It makes me think maybe he is a scout team player, but I really don't know.

I'll hang up and listen...

The Atlanta Falcons reached an injury settlement with rookie free agent WR Derrick Tinsley on August 29, 2005.

I don't think Davis even got an invite to any NFL team camp. He also does not show up on any CFL sites.

It's a shame that he (Jabari Davis) didn't get more of a chance to shine at UT. He was a good looking back early on, but never seemed to get the opportunity to progress. I don't remember him hardly getting any touches at all his senior year. I always thought he might make a decent NFL RB because of his size.

Hard for JD to get a deal. He was a short yardage/ Orange Zone back.

Myself, on the 5-Goal-line, give it to JD. He punched the ticket. His Sr season he was never 100%, When did we need his 100% effort against Vandy, KY, A&M? Those that assume he is off as a sales person, what is it you did so great in your non-collegiate career? JMX speak up, Brasszilla would you like to become an agent? I know where and when you can. :dunno:

My understanding is that he repeatedly refused to be a team player and switch to fullback. The NFL scouts seem to agree in pre-draft reviews that Davis' shot in the NFL would be at fullback. He got plenty of chances, but Riggs just outplayed during his senior season. Here are the stats of the Vols top running backs each year while Davis was a Vol.

2001 Travis Stephens 1464 yds, 5.0 avg, 10 TDs
2001 Cedric Houston 106 yds, 5.9 avg, 1 TD
2001 Jabari Davis 60 yds, 5.5 avg, 2 TDs
(he was 5th on the team in attempts as a freshman)

2002 Cedric Houston 779 yds, 5.1 avg, 6 TDs
2002 Jabari Davis 587 yds, 4.6 avg, 10 Tds

2003 Cedric Houston 744 yds, 5.0 avg, 2 TDs
2003 Jabari Davis 565 yds, 4.6 avg, 8 TDs

2004 Gerald Riggs 1107 yds, 5.7 avg, 6 TDs
2004 Cedric Houston 1005 yds, 5.6 avg, 8 TDs
2004 Jabari Davis 34 yds, 1.9 avg, 2 TDs
(he was the 4th RB in terms of carries on the team; Yancey had 24 att while Davis had 18)
