"The Gator O line will give Mertz a little bit of time, but not enough on the final few drives.

Tennessee won’t go off. The offense will be more efficient than dominant, and the defense will quickly realize Florida isn’t Virginia or Austin Peay as this turns into an interesting fight that goes a full four quarters.

It won’t be the days of Manning vs Wuerffel - Tennessee will actually win; sorry, too soon - but the Gators will have their chances late.

A few key sacks will get the Vols out alive for back-to-back wins over Florida for the first time since 2003-2004."

This game usually determines whether or not UT will have a good season. Just look back over the past 20 years.

2003: 10 wins
2004: 10 wins Won SECE
2016: 9 wins ( should have been better)
2022: First 11 win season since 2001.

For the first time since 2003, I truly believe UT has the upper hand entering the swamp with a better coach. That doesn't mean we will win ( Swamp is always tough ) but Heupel has done a terrific job of devising a good game plan since he has been here. This game is pivotal if UT wants to achieve anything of significance in 2023. If we do lose, then when will the Vols break that losing streak? Big game for Heupel and the game is even bigger for Napier. Time to prove we really are the 11th best team in the country. GBO!!

Didn't in 95, 96 and 97. That's the reason I hate them more than any other team. Period. Fuggum.

Yeah I could have stretched the time frame back into the 90s. Thought it would be best to start at 2003 since that is the last time we won at UF.

Lulz, I wasn't trying to blow up your point, but I had to point that out. 11 wins in 95 and 97 and 10 in 95. Them fawking gaters man.

They picked Florida to win for their full season record and game by game predictions that they created back in July.

They update that breakdown after each weekend with the outcome of each team’s games following their results - and in turn present a date the article was revised/updated to reflect such - but they make their whole game-by-game season previews and predictions articles in June and July for each of the FBS teams.

I really do believe this dline is nasty
It's the most important position in college football after the QB. I agree - if feels like a generation since I've seen our Dline this active and quick to the QB. Barnett being the only exception.
