The current bracket isn't remotely balanced (look at our path vs PSU's). I think you should be rewarded for winning your conference, specifically in the P4. With that said, if you changed nothing and kept 5 auto bids for conference champs, but didn't give them an automatic 1st round bye and just gave it to the top 4, this is how the bracket would've shaken out this year. I believe it would've been much more balanced and most likely would be in the future. 1000011737.jpg

Nah, go to 16 teams, no byes. No auto top seeds.

Seed em up and let’s have 8 home games. Traditional seeding in round 1….1vs16, 2vs15.

Being your conference champ guarantees you in and increases your chances for higher seeding just like MBB.

Everyone has to win the same number to be Champ.

To an extent, I see your point, but I think 16 teams is too many. I was for an 8 team play off. Now that we're at 12, I don't really like the idea of watering it down more with a bunch of 9-3 or 8-4 teams. I don't really have a problem with rewarding the top 4 teams with a bye in the current format though.

Problem with 8 is also run conferences won’t do without the auto bids and if they don’t go along then the only choice is for the SEC/Big90 to walk away and do their own thing.

That is why we have the mess we have is they wouldn’t agree to expansion without the byes and auto in(s) for the girls conferences.

All big conferences will have to agree or break away to make changes.

That is why you will have to go to 16 just like basketball is getting ready to go top 99.

Yeah my main problem is it'll get to 16. Then that won't be enough and we'll be at 24, then, 36 etc.

I hear you but to me the other suggestion is to have the Platinum Championship tournament including the best 8 SEC / Big 10 teams and then the Bronze Championship of the best other 8 teams

I do feel like restructuring the bracket how I mentioned would be a huge improvement to the current format though
