Well guys---after reading the Gruden Cliff notes thread I would be completely pumped about Morris as OC! First, if the boosters are serious about getting the life pumped into this program how excited would you be for Morris and could it happen? If he could recruit the caliber of athlete he has at Clemson I'm all in!

Would be incredible, but we are talking insane money to buy him out and then bring him here.

Yeah, well my thinking is if they are going to do it big...they need to go ahead and do it. I think the University stands to make a lot of money if the boosters are going to throw this much scratch around. It could be a win win for everyone!

Chad Morris' 1.3 mil, 6 year contract details released »

The wording in this says, "If coach leaves to accept a position as an assistant or coordinator during the first 3 years of the agreement, he must pay the university liquidated damages in the sum of his annual total compensation multiplied by the number of years and/or portion thereof, then remaining in this agreement. For purposes of this agreement, total compensation is understood to be base salary plus supplemental salary."

So his buyout would be just 2 years of salary, right? Not $6mil that some were speculating?

No. It's total compensation multiplied by the remaining years (5?).

Well, it would be interesting to have a guy like Morris---all money and penalties aside the guy is a great play caller and runs an exciting offensive scheme.
