It was weird because he caught it while lying down, not his feet. So, how is it ruled if he got both feet in bounds when one foot touches out of bounds shortly afterwards? I honestly don’t know.

I remember a few years ago, a UT receiver caught a TD while falling down. He landed on his butt, barely in bounds during the catch. I remember thinking, “He only got one cheek in bounds. In the NFL, would that be incomplete because you need both cheeks in bounds?” 😆
To me it’s very hard to be sure at times. I think that in this situation the receiver was deemed to be down in bounds with control of the ball before his foot may have touched out of bounds. I think the “may have touched” is key. They just can’t be 100% sure, so they go with the call on the field.

To answer though, I assume that in the NFL 1 cheek is equal to 2 feet!😂

Baker Mayfield got on my nerves while in college, but I gotta admit, I’m impressed with his unwillingness to fail. He is a relentless competitor, and I’ve grown to admire that in him. I’ve enjoyed watching him grow into a good NFL QB.

That being said, I’m a Falcons fan, so I’m all for Washington tonight.

I didn’t like him in college either. However, my opinion on him has changed in the last few years. He seems to have matured and has become a solid qb.

I agree, he hit me wrong in college bc he came off a bit arrogant and didn’t play for my team. A little arrogance probably isn’t the worst thing for a professional athlete though, so long as it doesn’t take away from development or leadership skills. Honestly, in hindsight, it’s possible that he was usually showing confidence more than arrogance. Aside from the flag planting thing, which I very much enjoyed. 😂
