Chaney and Pitman to UGA

Chaney and Pittman were good IMO. They could have done a LOT worse.

Chaney never committed to the run.

This is awesome for us since UGA's running game and OL has always been their strength.

Beating UGA just got easier IMO.

That was my recollection of Chaney too. I looked at his stats with Pitt this year and they were a pretty balanced offense. That may also be Pat Narduzzi overriding the play calling. I hope Chaney goes back to his pass happy ways.

Made a couple of good ones for his offense. Hired Caney as OC and Pittman as his OL coach.

When is the last time a Chaney led offense won a big game?

With Drew Brees @ Purdue?

So one side of the ball wins games?

As was pointed out, the offense did more than enough in almost every game in 2012. You shouldn't need more than 31, 35, 44 and 48 to win games, especially in this league. We averaged 37 ppg in 2012, we averaged 34 ppg this year. What's the difference? We didn't give up 40 one single time, we did that 6x in 2012.

You have to be joking. The running backs will keep coming as that state pumps them out every year. Now the receivers they also crank out will ensure UGA will get them plenty of balls too. Chaney will get alot of qbs attention. This is not good for anyone in SEC except UGA.

Their QBs are terrible though, and it might be a while before he can get one up to speed

Pittman's OLs have consistently been the best in the conference, when he was with UT and when he was with Army. Chaney has a great balanced offense. When he was at UT we had a great offense, we just couldn't stop anyone on Defense. I think UGa may have found its offensive identity.

This is what I was afraid of when UGA finally figured out that Richt needed to go. UGA now has coaching to go with talent.

Anyone who doesn't think bringing in Chaney and Pittman was a great move by Smart is fooling themselves. That was a great hire.
The single biggest mistake Jones has made is not doing whatever it took to keep Pittman. He is without question the very best Oline coach in football and he's a great recruiter.
UGA just got a helluva lot better.

Chaney just had a good season with Peterman. Pittman just had 2 ol make all SEC. Cast shade all you want. Chaney with a real defense had a NC caliber offense at UT in '12.

Pittsburgh offense was better statistically with Voytik

2015 Peterman

Completions Attempts Yards TDsINTs Rating Rush
167 266 2008 18 4 145.5 77-206

2014 Voytik
176 287 2233 16 7 140.2 108-466(3tds)

Voytik had 485 more total yards and 1 more TD

Last year Pitt averaged 435 and 31.8 points per game
this year they average 386 and 28.6

Peterman finished with 2150 yards and 19:5. Not a big deal but closer to Voytik's from 2014.
