Dooley has never been an offensive or defensive coordinator. I don't know why anyone would think, all the sudden, he can become an effective coordinator in the SEC.
Because he's a football coach with other meaningful experience.
Either he will or he won't. Your gratuitous negative statement was for what? Does Dooley really... really need to be beaten down more with these types of shallow attacks?
His performance speaks for itself. If I were his boss, he would have been unemployed following the USCe game. Since he isn't... there's a reasonably good chance that he will be kept through '13. IMHO, he has not proven he can coach well enough to keep the position. OTOH, those actually making that call may take an "only if it is a definite upgrade" approach to replacing him. That would be an intelligent approach.
Look, it is just a fact. Followed by a legitimate question. He has never been an offensive or defensive coordinator for any team.
To his credit, he has been a special teams coach and so far this game, special teams have played well. As far as I can tell, special teams have only given up one touchdown and missed one field goal in the 1st quarter. His input has definitely helped special teams.
